Guro Paul Vunak, one of Dan Inosanto’s top students breaks down trapping range. This is an older clip, pre-dating the popularity of both Muay Thai and Gracie Jiu Jitsu in the states. It holds a ton of relevancy for street applications and is the direct curriculum in our Jeet Kune Do program (JKD)

Specifically the explanation of ranges and how to function between them is gold here. In fact, quite often the knowledge of these ranges elude the modern fighter. They kick inside of punching range, or try to grapple too far away. Our mentors impressed upon us long ago that to master the range game is one thing that sets apart and expert from a novice.

We are covering trapping this month in the JKD class at RCW. Thanks for checking out the clip, and for more on everything JKD check out River City Warriors right here in Tigard.
