Lemony Snicket: here’s a bunch of novels about children in sad, abusive, age inappropriate and sometimes outright dangerous or violent situations. They are placed in these situations because every adult that is supposed to be taking care of them or is in a position of power is ridiculously incompetent at best and willfully ignorant at worst.
Me, aged ten: okay, me too. I am going to consume all thirteen of these novels in a month and make them a large part of my personality for the rest of my life. No we are not going to acknowledge that I relate to the main characters. That’s a problem for later me.
I would’ve laughed at this if it wasn’t a summary of my childhood,,,
