I try to have a fun project on hand constantly, something I can do to warm up my creative brain before a studio workday. Recently I’ve been painting patterns on this #lasercut wooden snake, kind of like a #tinydoodles project changed shape. I want to do more projects like this, and I think animal silhouettes really lend themselves well to this process. Maybe a bird next?

I spent the first day of the year watching Netflix, drinking rosé, and drawing in my new sketchbook. I picked this up at @daiso_usa because the pages are half graph paper, half brown paper. One of my goals in 2018 is to make more art just for fun, so I’m trying to get back to doodling, embroidery, and photography, as well as taking classes and workshops locally. What are your creative resolutions?

A few months ago I cut out a couple more of these wooden snakes and waited to have time to play with them. Of course, that time never appears when you are self employed, so I made myself take 15 minute breaks during a busy day and do a little doodling for fun between finishing other jobs. Black craft acrylic and @poscagallery paint pens.
