I just finished Ep. 1 and…I’m not impressed. I was missled. I was lied to. They said it was better, it was not.
My precious baby Jay!!! What are they doing to your character???
Robin!Jason doing drugs?? Creating his own??? I mean, they gave him brains…but in the same way they give smarts to all the DC villains. SMH.
(Also, Dick, what the fuck? Doesn’t read the back of a cereal box????? How dare you!? )
BTW, why does DC insist on showing Jason as an incapable moron? Would it have killed them to (since he already was in the GCPD’s database) place a call from a terrified civilian with Joker’s laughter in the background? Really? It would have been SO much better! Cause the audience would know that he didn’t actually went in to “prove something” but the characters wouldn’t and could still react the same way (really Kori, really?) but be *wrong*.
And seriously, not one single attempt at a fight? Jason is Robin! He has training! A 20 second fight scene is not that much to ask for!!!!!!!The way NO ONE mourns for him kills *me*. I was hoping for at least idk ONE SINGE TEAR? FROM ANYONE? I wanted Alfred!
This Bruce continues to suck. I mean, I buy the actor as old-psychotic-Bruce-Wayne, but not as Batman, you know? And his character is the worst. At least they don’t portray him as being in the right anymore! Call him out Barbara!
I really did like Babs. She’s something new. (The fact that the actress is actually dissabled is awesome, too). I would have like SO much to see a flashback of what happened to her; or something with her and Jason, since she “loved him so much” (it’s kinda hard to believe because we’re never shown that).
I like what they are doing with Tim!! I wonder where’s it’s going, tho. (Also, he actually has an uncle!! Lmao)

BTW, how does nobody notice that at the same time Dick Grayson is back (and at the precint *all the time*) Nightwing is too???

So, it just occured to me (idk if someone else came up with the same idea, cause i haven’t looked at the tags on tumblr and i don’t have twitter so) but what if. What if Jason’s yellow drug is actually some *anti-fear-toxin* that he (and possibly Crane? it’d be cool if he was pulling some strings) came up with, because he was tired to freezing everytime he looked at a window? Or to force himself to put on his suit and go out?
Just.
Imagine Jason, alone in a huge empty mansion. Alfred gone. Barbara busy with her new job, dealing with her grief and her new limits. Dick never calling. The rest of the team never getting in touch. Never apologizing, asking if he’s okay or wants to come back. Bruce being gone or being a empty shell; sealing away his grief and focusing only on the mission. Imagine Jason, walking to the kitchen, and freezing at any of the hundreds of windows in the Manor, trembling and unable to leave his nightmare. His legs trembling when he finally arrives, two hours or so later. Imagine him, feeling so lost and terrified and *alone*. So he decides to find something that will help him, because there’s nobody that will. Something that he could count on (because no one else is there); something so that he won’t depend on anyone else or appear weak(er) to others.
Imagine Bruce never noticing, because he doesn’t care. He never has.
Imagine Crane, little by little, getting inside his head. “Freeing” him of his fears; but really freeing something inside of him. That part that can get things done, that is not afraid that consequences (for “them” or anyone else). The part that Jason tried to bury everyday; the part that got them killed by that maniac clown. The part that has control now. That chose his name to steal something back. Red Hood.

So, it just occured to me (idk if someone else came up with the same idea, cause i haven’t looked at the tags on tumblr and i don’t have twitter so) but what if. What if Jason’s yellow drug is actually some *anti-fear-toxin* that he (and possibly Crane? it’d be cool if he was pulling some strings) came up with, because he was tired to freezing everytime he looked at a window? Or to force himself to put on his suit and go out?
Just.
Imagine Jason, alone in a huge empty mansion. Alfred gone. Barbara busy with her new job, dealing with her grief and her new limits. Dick never calling. The rest of the team never getting in touch. Never apologizing, asking if he’s okay or wants to come back. Bruce being gone or being a empty shell; sealing away his grief and focusing only on the mission. Imagine Jason, walking to the kitchen, and freezing at any of the hundreds of windows in the Manor, trembling and unable to leave his nightmare. His legs trembling when he finally arrives, two hours or so later. Imagine him, feeling so lost and terrified and *alone*. So he decides to find something that will help him, because there’s nobody that will. Something that he could count on (because no one else is there); something so that he won’t depend on anyone else or appear weak(er) to others.
Imagine Bruce never noticing, because he doesn’t care. He never has.
Imagine Crane, little by little, getting inside his head. “Freeing” him of his fears; but really freeing something inside of him. That part that can get things done, that is not afraid that consequences (for “them” or anyone else). The part that Jason tried to bury everyday; the part that got them killed by that maniac clown. The part that has control now. That chose his name to steal something back. Red Hood.
So…I haven’t watched the fourth episode yet.
I’m SO afraid of doing it. It’s causing me some serious anxiety (and the fact that I just finished a 3 hour long virtual class doesn’t help) and I feel bad, physically.
But I did search tumblr to see if there was something. There was. Something about Jason spilling all of Dick’s trauma and secrets and what-not? I’m just. Why. Why is HE always the bad guy? Why is the abused, had-to-live-on-the-streets, angry boy the one that becomes a villain? Yeah, he’s angry. He has a right to be! He was taken from a miserable and truly hurtful situation and promised a home, a purpose, a family. And that? Never happened. No one (except Gar, bless him) gave him a chance. And I’M SO ANGRY that they wont ever admit that!
I’m so, so mad that the writers couldn’t have given LESS OF A SHIT about Jason’s storyline. (Double negative cause that’s the only way the sentence makes sens). They just wanted A villain. Any villain; cause I guess they don’t know how to write Blackfire well enough for her to be the main villain for a whole season (I’d love to have a badass intelligent female antagonist, but obviously they aren’t able to give us one so they cooked this shit up to fill in the blanks).
They never cared to read a single comic, hell, a wikia page of Jason Todd. His motivations, his character, his *actions*…it’s all wrong. That’s not Jason Todd. That’s not Red Hood.
But, since TV series and movies reach WAY more people, this is the only Jason Todd they’ll see. And I HATE that.

So…unlike the other episodes, I watched this episode in one sitting; mainly cause I already watched Akasan react to it on Youtube, so I knew the general gist of it.
I must say, that in my opinion, this episode is the best written and most consistent yet. I mean, it follows a single character and that’s probably why, but credit where its due, I guess.
Surprisingly, I liked this episode. They included street kids, so I’m *very* glad; at least they haven’t completely erased that part of him. They included Molly, who I’m pretty sure is just a show character, but seems awesome (tho its unclear if she’s a fellow street kid from Jason’s day, or is a social worker, or is a street kid that became a social worker or what is she exactly. Also, what age is she?? She seems older than Jason by at least 4 years? IDK).
They gave us a trying-to-be-a-good-dad-but-failing Bruce; which at least explains why he would kill Joker. And I like that the conversations were a constant missunderstanding; very realistic. Still doesn’t excuse the fact that Bruce didn’t notice his son renting a wherehouse and turning it into a illigal laboratory. The ingredients I’m sure are rare and monitored and expensive!
I loved that they included Dr. Leslie, tho I really don’t like the fact that they made her younger than *Bruce*; she’s supossed to be near Alfred’s age!
And really, couldn’t they include Alfred, even in a passing comment? When B asked Jay to make dinner, that was a perfect moment for saying something about him! I get that they are gunning for Donna’s return via Lazarus Pit (which would render the whole “Raven went to the Amazons to learn how to bring her back” utterly useless, unless her powers can deactivate the madness of the pit, somehow) but please give us more??
And the fact that Jason had nightmares with Donna?? Unless it’s her from the “other side”; it’s utterly ridiculous. The last thing she did was accuse him of playing with her dead boyfriend’s memory and that drove him to near suicide. So, yeah. Makes no sense unless it’s her trying to reach to the Titans from behind the veil or whatever.
The biggest problem I had with the episode? This should have been the first episode. Or the second. Or the fourth. I understand that the whole Titans shtick is “confused the heck out of them so they forget how little sense we make” but really? This episode as the second? Would have made us much more sentimental and commited to the show.

So…Dick went back to Gotham for 4 years? He stayed away from Bruce but not from Gotham those 4 years? He completely moved to Detroit or San Fran or NY or somewhere else, where he became a cop and then a detective; and then came back to kill that guy? (That would make the most sense, cause there’s no way he became a detective in one single year).
It would have been so much easier to tell what is happening if the teen actor from S1 (and the actress of teen Donna; cause Dawn and Hank were already adults when they started) came back to film the Jericho scenes.
Cause it just seems they are the same age all the time and it doesnt make any sense…
Back to my original point: it would have been very Nice to see a flashback of Babs and Jay.

So, it just occured to me (idk if someone else came up with the same idea, cause i haven’t looked at the tags on tumblr and i don’t have twitter so) but what if. What if Jason’s yellow drug is actually some *anti-fear-toxin* that he (and possibly Crane? it’d be cool if he was pulling some strings) came up with, because he was tired to freezing everytime he looked at a window? Or to force himself to put on his suit and go out?
Just.
Imagine Jason, alone in a huge empty mansion. Alfred gone. Barbara busy with her new job, dealing with her grief and her new limits. Dick never calling. The rest of the team never getting in touch. Never apologizing, asking if he’s okay or wants to come back. Bruce being gone or being a empty shell; sealing away his grief and focusing only on the mission. Imagine Jason, walking to the kitchen, and freezing at any of the hundreds of windows in the Manor, trembling and unable to leave his nightmare. His legs trembling when he finally arrives, two hours or so later. Imagine him, feeling so lost and terrified and *alone*. So he decides to find something that will help him, because there’s nobody that will. Something that he could count on (because no one else is there); something so that he won’t depend on anyone else or appear weak(er) to others.
Imagine Bruce never noticing, because he doesn’t care. He never has.
Imagine Crane, little by little, getting inside his head. “Freeing” him of his fears; but really freeing something inside of him. That part that can get things done, that is not afraid that consequences (for “them” or anyone else). The part that Jason tried to bury everyday; the part that got them killed by that maniac clown. The part that has control now. That chose his name to steal something back. Red Hood.
So…I haven’t watched the fourth episode yet.
I’m SO afraid of doing it. It’s causing me some serious anxiety (and the fact that I just finished a 3 hour long virtual class doesn’t help) and I feel bad, physically.
But I did search tumblr to see if there was something. There was. Something about Jason spilling all of Dick’s trauma and secrets and what-not? I’m just. Why. Why is HE always the bad guy? Why is the abused, had-to-live-on-the-streets, angry boy the one that becomes a villain? Yeah, he’s angry. He has a right to be! He was taken from a miserable and truly hurtful situation and promised a home, a purpose, a family. And that? Never happened. No one (except Gar, bless him) gave him a chance. And I’M SO ANGRY that they wont ever admit that!
I’m so, so mad that the writers couldn’t have given LESS OF A SHIT about Jason’s storyline. (Double negative cause that’s the only way the sentence makes sens). They just wanted A villain. Any villain; cause I guess they don’t know how to write Blackfire well enough for her to be the main villain for a whole season (I’d love to have a badass intelligent female antagonist, but obviously they aren’t able to give us one so they cooked this shit up to fill in the blanks).

So…unlike the other episodes, I watched this episode in one sitting; mainly cause I already watched Akasan react to it on Youtube, so I knew the general gist of it.
I must say, that in my opinion, this episode is the best written and most consistent yet. I mean, it follows a single character and that’s probably why, but credit where its due, I guess.
Surprisingly, I liked this episode. They included street kids, so I’m *very* glad; at least they haven’t completely erased that part of him. They included Molly, who I’m pretty sure is just a show character, but seems awesome (tho its unclear if she’s a fellow street kid from Jason’s day, or is a social worker, or is a street kid that became a social worker or what is she exactly. Also, what age is she?? She seems older than Jason by at least 4 years? IDK).
They gave us a trying-to-be-a-good-dad-but-failing Bruce; which at least explains why he would kill Joker. And I like that the conversations were a constant missunderstanding; very realistic. Still doesn’t excuse the fact that Bruce didn’t notice his son renting a wherehouse and turning it into a illigal laboratory. The ingredients I’m sure are rare and monitored and expensive!
I loved that they included Dr. Leslie, tho I really don’t like the fact that they made her younger than *Bruce*; she’s supossed to be near Alfred’s age!

So, it just occured to me (idk if someone else came up with the same idea, cause i haven’t looked at the tags on tumblr and i don’t have twitter so) but what if. What if Jason’s yellow drug is actually some *anti-fear-toxin* that he (and possibly Crane? it’d be cool if he was pulling some strings) came up with, because he was tired to freezing everytime he looked at a window? Or to force himself to put on his suit and go out?

Imagine Jason, alone in a huge empty mansion. Alfred gone. Barbara busy with her new job, dealing with her grief and her new limits. Dick never calling. The rest of the team never getting in touch. Never apologizing, asking if he’s okay or wants to come back. Bruce being gone or being a empty shell; sealing away his grief and focusing only on the mission. Imagine Jason, walking to the kitchen, and freezing at any of the hundreds of windows in the Manor, trembling and unable to leave his nightmare. His legs trembling when he finally arrives, two hours or so later. Imagine him, feeling so lost and terrified and *alone*. So he decides to find something that will help him, because there’s nobody that will. Something that he could count on (because no one else is there); something so that he won’t depend on anyone else or appear weak(er) to others.
Imagine Bruce never noticing, because he doesn’t care. He never has.
Imagine Crane, little by little, getting inside his head. “Freeing” him of his fears; but really freeing something inside of him. That part that can get things done, that is not afraid that consequences (for “them” or anyone else). The part that Jason tried to bury everyday; the part that got them killed by that maniac clown. The part that has control now. That chose his name to steal something back. Red Hood.
So…I haven’t watched the fourth episode yet.
I’m SO afraid of doing it. It’s causing me some serious anxiety (and the fact that I just finished a 3 hour long virtual class doesn’t help) and I feel bad, physically.
But I did search tumblr to see if there was something. There was. Something about Jason spilling all of Dick’s trauma and secrets and what-not? I’m just. Why. Why is HE always the bad guy? Why is the abused, had-to-live-on-the-streets, angry boy the one that becomes a villain? Yeah, he’s angry. He has a right to be! He was taken from a miserable and truly hurtful situation and promised a home, a purpose, a family. And that? Never happened. No one (except Gar, bless him) gave him a chance. And I’M SO ANGRY that they wont ever admit that!
I’m so, so mad that the writers couldn’t have given LESS OF A SHIT about Jason’s storyline. (Double negative cause that’s the only way the sentence makes sens). They just wanted A villain. Any villain; cause I guess they don’t know how to write Blackfire well enough for her to be the main villain for a whole season (I’d love to have a badass intelligent female antagonist, but obviously they aren’t able to give us one so they cooked this shit up to fill in the blanks).
They never cared to read a single comic, hell, a wikia page of Jason Todd. His motivations, his character, his *actions*…it’s all wrong. That’s not Jason Todd. That’s not Red Hood.
But, since TV series and movies reach WAY more people, this is the only Jason Todd they’ll see. And I HATE that.

How is Dick gonna show up a the precinct with a sling/bandaged arm and play it off as another injury? and b)why Dick’s pikachu face when he walked into the cabin??? Crane wasn’t there anymore, Dick let him go to help hiim with the trap! Or did he think Crane was just gonna go back and chain himself back to the chair???

So…unlike the other episodes, I watched this episode in one sitting; mainly cause I already watched Akasan react to it on Youtube, so I knew the general gist of it.
I must say, that in my opinion, this episode is the best written and most consistent yet. I mean, it follows a single character and that’s probably why, but credit where its due, I guess.
Surprisingly, I liked this episode. They included street kids, so I’m *very* glad; at least they haven’t completely erased that part of him. They included Molly, who I’m pretty sure is just a show character, but seems awesome (tho its unclear if she’s a fellow street kid from Jason’s day, or is a social worker, or is a street kid that became a social worker or what is she exactly. Also, what age is she?? She seems older than Jason by at least 4 years? IDK).
They gave us a trying-to-be-a-good-dad-but-failing Bruce; which at least explains why he would kill Joker. And I like that the conversations were a constant missunderstanding; very realistic. Still doesn’t excuse the fact that Bruce didn’t notice his son renting a wherehouse and turning it into a illigal laboratory. The ingredients I’m sure are rare and monitored and expensive!
I loved that they included Dr. Leslie, tho I really don’t like the fact that they made her younger than *Bruce*; she’s supossed to be near Alfred’s age!
And really, couldn’t they include Alfred, even in a passing comment? When B asked Jay to make dinner, that was a perfect moment for saying something about him! Like, Bruce says he lost too many people; but no mention of Gordon or Alfred or Barbara…like, if you bring it up, actually bring it up. Batman’s breaking point wasn’t reached only cause of his parents and Jay’s death, but all the people he lost.
I’m starting to like-hate Crane. Which is good! Cause it means he at least has personality xD His stoner act is very funny sometimes.
They explored Jason’t PTSD, not very in depth, but at least they did it and it’s a good explanation. A reason to why he would do the things Red Hood does. Although the skills with weapons he has, the helmet and such were not touched upon *at all*. It seems he had no idea of the whole get-up until he was brought back to life.
And was Crane’s plan to kill him and revive him all along? Cause he practically gift grapped him for the Joker by sending Jay his way (which, TEN SECOND FIGHT SCENE, COME ON PEOPLE, JASON COULD HAVE THROWN ONE PUNCH!). He didn’t seem worried or shocked or sad when the guard told him Robin was killed.
(Which is another plothole: does people know Jason died????? Or did Bruce just burried him and notified no one? Did no one in the morgue noticed?? What happened there????)
And the Lazarous Pit. Cool it was there (and sometimes there is one in Gotham), but A)Ra’s Al Ghul would never leave a pit unguarded and B)how did Crane knows about it? Never explained either. I get that they are gunning for Donna’s return via Lazarus Pit (which would render the whole “Raven went to the Amazons to learn how to bring her back” utterly useless, unless her powers can deactivate the madness of the pit, somehow) but please give us more??
And the fact that Jason had nightmares with Donna?? Unless it’s her from the “other side”; it’s utterly ridiculous. The last thing she did was accuse him of playing with her dead boyfriend’s memory and that drove him to near suicide. So, yeah. Makes no sense unless it’s her trying to reach to the Titans from behind the veil or whatever.
The biggest problem I had with the episode? This should have been the first episode. Or the second. Or the fourth. I understand that the whole Titans shtick is “confused the heck out of them so they forget how little sense we make” but really? This episode as the second? Would have made us much more sentimental and commited to the show.
I must say tho, I feel a little better about this season now, tho. They haven’t managed to ruin Jason’s character completely. Yet. (Tho it would be nice if they gave a good reason for all of those people to die other than to “sow terror”).

Death in the Family and Under the Red Hood and basically Jason Todd’s entire story is tragic and layered, it’s a story that spans over years and explores trauma and grief as well as how Batman’s no kill rule has kind of maybe caused more deaths than it’s saved lives.
While Snyder’s Justice League doesn’t state which Robin was killed or ever thoroughly go into the topic it’s nightmare sequence at the end of the film at least understands the complications of it. Bruce is keeping Joker post apocalypse wandering through a wasteland with the remains of the League, Joker claims he needs him with them and we find out that Joker not only killed a Robin but also killed Harley after she’d joined with Bruce and his team. We find out Bruce made a promise to Harley to avenge her and kill Joker, but Joker knows he won’t do that and Bruce despite his rage and his threat to end him seems to also know he can’t ever kill him….and that’s the tragedy. This man killed one of Bruce’s kids and killed a friend of his and yet he still can’t kill him.
Now DC’s Titans on the other hand decided to speed run all of this and also make the worst take on Bruce Wayne known to man.
In Titans Jason is portrayed as an illiterate brat who is a complete moron incapable of any thought what so ever. He rushes off without Bruce to find and capture The Joker and legitimately if you glance away from the screen or sneeze or anything at all you will miss Joker killing Jason. That’s how quick and pointless his death is in this show; it happens in less then 10 seconds. Immediately after this Bruce is already looking for a new kid to fight mad men to the death, while in the comics Bruce refused to get a new Robin because he was traumatized by Jason’s death.
In Titans Bruce acts like a cold disinterested father who doesn’t love his child. Bruce treats Dick and Jason and Barbara like weapons and views Gotham as a war zone. He sounds more like Thomas Wayne Batman than Bruce Wayne. He also spur of the moment murders the Joker and tells Dick.
Which just like Jason’s death is so random and sudden that you don’t even react to it other than “okay….?”
And of course three days later Jason is no longer dead and now despises super heroes. He’s still a child, this isn’t 10 years later, this isn’t even a week later. I hate how Dick on this show has had sex so far with every woman he knows or has known, I hate how Barbara is a bland cop, and I hate Jason being portrayed as an annoyance until he can be a villain and even then it’s so rushed it’s hard to care.
I understand the shows don’t have the rights to 98% or Batman characters Batman included and there’s a thousand things they can’t show or explore and here’s the thing….don’t do it at all then. Why try to tell a story that is intricate snd complex when you can’t show literally any of it at all?
This series is supposed to be about the Teen Titans and within 3 seasons the Titans have only been in a single room together a handful of times and have only solved a few cases together. This show shouldn’t be about Jason or Bruce or Red Hood because it’s clear the writers aren’t talented enough to handle these stories in the way they are meant to be handled.

Hbo Max gave them q bigger bugget and they focused on stunts and vfx (which looks cool and needed work, yes); but what about the writing???? Idgaf if Kori’s fire powers look realistic when her lines are still cringy as fuck.
Red Hood deserved a whole season of developing plot, not some seconds each episode, if that. Deathstroke got a whole season (and Jay should be way more linked to the Titans than Wilson, tbh).
Also, if Blackfire was gonna be ‘the’ villain of S3, let her be THE villain of season 3!!! She deserves better too. (What was that writing and acting in ep 4?????)

I like what they are doing with Tim!! I wonder where’s it’s going, tho. (Also, he actually has an uncle!! Lmao)

Imagine Jason, alone in a huge empty mansion. Alfred gone. Barbara busy with her new job, dealing with her grief and her new limits. Dick never calling. The rest of the team never getting in touch. Never apologizing, asking if he’s okay or wants to come back. Bruce being gone or being a empty shell; sealing away his grief and focusing only on the mission. Imagine Jason, walking to the kitchen, and freezing at any of the hundreds of windows in the Manor, trembling and unable to leave his nightmare. His legs trembling when he finally arrives, two hours or so later. Imagine him, feeling so lost and terrified and *alone*. So he decides to find something that will help him, because there’s nobody that will. Something that he could count on (because no one else is there); something so that he won’t depend on anyone else or appear weak(er) to others.
Imagine Bruce never noticing, because he doesn’t care. He never has.
Imagine Crane, little by little, getting inside his head. “Freeing” him of his fears; but really freeing something inside of him. That part that can get things done, that is not afraid that consequences (for “them” or anyone else). The part that Jason tried to bury everyday; the part that got them killed by that maniac clown. The part that has control now. That chose his name to steal something back. Red Hood.
So…I haven’t watched the fourth episode yet.
I’m SO afraid of doing it. It’s causing me some serious anxiety (and the fact that I just finished a 3 hour long virtual class doesn’t help) and I feel bad, physically.
But I did search tumblr to see if there was something. There was. Something about Jason spilling all of Dick’s trauma and secrets and what-not? I’m just. Why. Why is HE always the bad guy? Why is the abused, had-to-live-on-the-streets, angry boy the one that becomes a villain? Yeah, he’s angry. He has a right to be! He was taken from a miserable and truly hurtful situation and promised a home, a purpose, a family. And that? Never happened. No one (except Gar, bless him) gave him a chance. And I’M SO ANGRY that they wont ever admit that!
I’m so, so mad that the writers couldn’t have given LESS OF A SHIT about Jason’s storyline. (Double negative cause that’s the only way the sentence makes sens). They just wanted A villain. Any villain; cause I guess they don’t know how to write Blackfire well enough for her to be the main villain for a whole season (I’d love to have a badass intelligent female antagonist, but obviously they aren’t able to give us one so they cooked this shit up to fill in the blanks).
They never cared to read a single comic, hell, a wikia page of Jason Todd. His motivations, his character, his *actions*…it’s all wrong. That’s not Jason Todd. That’s not Red Hood.

Or to force himself to put on his suit and go out?

Imagine Jason, alone in a huge empty mansion. Alfred gone. Barbara busy with her new job, dealing with her grief and her new limits. Dick never calling. The rest of the team never getting in touch. Never apologizing, asking if he’s okay or wants to come back. Bruce being gone or being a empty shell; sealing away his grief and focusing only on the mission. Imagine Jason, walking to the kitchen, and freezing at any of the hundreds of windows in the Manor, trembling and unable to leave his nightmare. His legs trembling when he finally arrives, two hours or so later. Imagine him, feeling so lost and terrified and *alone*. So he decides to find something that will help him, because there’s nobody that will. Something that he could count on (because no one else is there); something so that he won’t depend on anyone else or appear weak(er) to others.
Imagine Bruce never noticing, because he doesn’t care. He never has.
Imagine Crane, little by little, getting inside his head. “Freeing” him of his fears; but really freeing something inside of him. That part that can get things done, that is not afraid that consequences (for “them” or anyone else). The part that Jason tried to bury everyday; the part that got them killed by that maniac clown. The part that has control now. That chose his name to steal something back. Red Hood.
So…I haven’t watched the fourth episode yet.
I’m SO afraid of doing it. It’s causing me some serious anxiety (and the fact that I just finished a 3 hour long virtual class doesn’t help) and I feel bad, physically.
But I did search tumblr to see if there was something. There was. Something about Jason spilling all of Dick’s trauma and secrets and what-not? I’m just. Why. Why is HE always the bad guy? Why is the abused, had-to-live-on-the-streets, angry boy the one that becomes a villain? Yeah, he’s angry. He has a right to be! He was taken from a miserable and truly hurtful situation and promised a home, a purpose, a family. And that? Never happened. No one (except Gar, bless him) gave him a chance. And I’M SO ANGRY that they wont ever admit that!
I’m so, so mad that the writers couldn’t have given LESS OF A SHIT about Jason’s storyline. (Double negative cause that’s the only way the sentence makes sens). They just wanted A villain. Any villain; cause I guess they don’t know how to write Blackfire well enough for her to be the main villain for a whole season (I’d love to have a badass intelligent female antagonist, but obviously they aren’t able to give us one so they cooked this shit up to fill in the blanks).
They never cared to read a single comic, hell, a wikia page of Jason Todd. His motivations, his character, his *actions*…it’s all wrong. That’s not Jason Todd. That’s not Red Hood.
But, since TV series and movies reach WAY more people, this is the only Jason Todd they’ll see. And I HATE that.

y’know what it feels like. it really feels like the titans writers were planning on going through with their “jason becomes red hood to get revenge on the titans; he doesn’t die to become the red hood” thing but when the fans got upset at that (rightly so – it doesn’t make any sense for him to act that way without the lazarus pit / being resurrected changing him) they said “oh shit” and scrambled to fix it. that’s why jason goes after the joker and dies at the beginning of the first episode, right before the opening sequences even plays. that’s why there seems to be so little emotion from the team over jason’s death. that’s why there isn’t any written timeskip between jason’s death and jason being the red hood (we were told it’s been 3 months between the end of s2 and the beginning of s3, but as far as i can tell, they don’t say anything about a timeskip after jason’s death. everything happens and then at the end of ep 1 bruce kills the joker [don’t even get me started on THAT one] but then at the beginning of ep 2 they’re talking about the joker being murdered last night. where’s the timeskip? are you telling me jason died, immediately got stolen and resurrected, then went on to become the red hood in the span of a few days???) that’s why they seem to be focusing so little on how he FUCKING CAME BACK TO LIFE. (oh and can i add the weird line of referring to the person who stolejason’sdead bodyas “jason’shenchman” – almost as if they were planning on him being a villain before he died, hmmm????)
shit doesn’t add up, but it does start to add up when you consider that they weren’t planning on doing the “jason dies” storyline in the first place, they just added a few scenes and a few lines and kept the rest.
