Top Ten Tuesday – goals/resolutions for 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post that is hosted over at The Broke And The Bookish. This week we are discussing our goals for 2015. I know, something that seems crazy, how are we even at the end of the year? Let’s dive right in…

1) Read 70 books.

This seems a small amount to some but for me is quite the challenge. I’m definitely trying to do it though. Believe I can do it because I’m getting in to…

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post that is hosted over at The Broke And The Bookish. This week we are covering all things spoOOOKkkyyy. I do love a good horror movie, although I don’t tend to read too many spooky books. I think my imagination gets carried away and then I get ‘too’ in to a book. Equalling nightmares. Wimp. But we all love a good scare.

BOOKS

1) Obsidian by Jennifer L Armentrout. Aliens. HOT ALIENS. When does Halloween ever have hot aliens?

2) Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. Vampires are a huge love of mine (no, I’m not kidding, I used to pretend cocktail sticks were stakes and stab my barbies with them as a kid) and this series as a whole is amazing but Vampire Academy is a short, quick and enjoyable read. There are more than one species of vampire in this too.

3) Find Me by Romily Bernard. A good thriller and a hunt for a killer. I read this quite quickly and don’t find many YA crime books.

4) ANY HARRY POTTER BOOK. REPEAT. WIZARDS. WEREWOLVES. LOTS OF MAGICAL THINGS. MURDEROUS SNAKE MAN.

5) Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan. I really love this book, it contains witches and spooky stuff like that. I know it isn’t majorly Halloween-y but I just <3.

MOVIES

6) The Nightmare Before Christmas. Because duh, Jack Skeleton.

7) Hocus Pocus. Because who doesn’t love a good 90’s film? If you’ve never seen it, you’ll notice the theme I’m going on. More witches.

8) The Descent. I’m actually making my boyfriend watch this on Halloween. Because I’m so romantic when celebrating seven months. Let us watch cave diving people who get attacked by weird creatures.

9) Resident Evil. She is so kick ass in this movie it almost makes me jealous. Also makes me want to open a can of whoop ass in to the air. *doesn’t do this. nope*

10) Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The movie (and tv show but SHH that is cheating) I do like, because it gets my vampire thrill in.

What are your top tens? Let me know in a comment or over at @fangirldaily_ on Twitter.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by the lovely Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. Please take a moment to pop over and say hi!

This week’s topic is Top Ten Books By My Favourite Authors I Haven’t Read Yet. I am super bad for starting a series and not finishing it, but I am going to try and avoid mentioning series books here. As always, in no particular order.

Summary:

A sumptuous and epically told love story inspired by A Thousand and One Nights

Every dawn brings horror to a different family in a land ruled by a killer. Khalid, the eighteen-year-old Caliph of Khorasan, takes a new bride each night only to have her executed at sunrise. So it is a suspicious surprise when sixteen-year-old Shahrzad volunteers to marry Khalid. But she does so with a clever plan to stay alive and exact revenge on the Caliph for the murder of her best friend and countless other girls. Shazi’s wit and will, indeed, get her through to the dawn that no others have seen, but with a catch … she’s falling in love with the very boy who killed her dearest friend.

She discovers that the murderous boy-king is not all that he seems and neither are the deaths of so many girls. Shazi is determined to uncover the reason for the murders and to break the cycle once and for all.

I have read a lot of books that I enjoyed, but since I don’t have many friends in real life that read as much as me, I often don’t have anyone to share these books with. So, here are the top ten books that I have read.

Have you read any of the following? Let me know what you thought about them!

As always, happy reading!

There’s the saying, you can’t judge a book by its cover. However, us readers do on a constant basis, even if we tell ourselves we don’t. I constantly say that I don’t but I definitely do. Here are the ten books that I have purchased due to being attracted to the cover.

There you have my top ten cover lust buys! While, granted, some of these were purchased after reading the descriptions as well, I truly am attached to these covers.

What books did you purchase after looking at the cover? What were your impulse buys? Let me know down in the comments below!

As always, happy reading!
