In regards of the story, since it is around an assasination, he feels like a totaly natural choice from a saniwa to send to that period of time.
Here we have again a tousute double cast, with a newcomer on stage, being a 26 yo(95.8.24) member of the band scramble gum since 2018. He has a youtube channel opened recently
I can’t find details about nansen’s relationship with any part of the historical events, si this cursed catboy’s part is totally up the screen writers.
Yuusuke is 23 (98-5-1) and made his debut last year in tennimyu’s firt stage of the current generation with ookanehira’s actor. He has also showed his “talents” in the latest show by rock. As a side note he has a big tikok follow and is openly a BTS army member.
Regarding the Sword in the story, since Koryuu was owned by the assasinated li naosuke, he is very implicated in the story that gives its name to the stage.
This one is going to be fast : he is a 24yo(97.09.12) member of a boys band named platinium boys and has quite a large tiktok channel but toumyu will be his first experience on stage, and I really hope they succeded once again in their casting choices and he is much more than just a pretty boy.
The title comes from a painting representing the Sakuradamon Incident during wich a famous official li napsuke was assasinated by members of the mito and satsuma domains that happened on the 24th of march 1860. Which will probably the historical event to protect that will be the set of this show.
i am not a scholar in japanese history so there is a lot more info to dig around about this. i’d be curious to read a more detailed understanding of that title

I won’t do a post about kane-san returning because we have 5 new swords including 4 new double cast from tousute that are ookanehira, nansenichimonji, hizen tadahiro and most challenging of all mamba-han.
He recently turned 25 (96-11-17 ), has been working in the banchou boys company since 2015 and as part of the boysband 10神ACTOR(10jinactors). He is probably already known or at least has been seen by a lot of 2.5D fans for :

Having been trained by tennimyu recently, i have no doubt he’ll be a good performer, and definitively a fairly different one from tousute’s human puppy.

Once again I have come with a release that wasn’t high priority, but definitely a lot of fun to work on! Mostly, because I tried something new!
This subtitle comes in two versions. One is the usual file with translations of all dialogue. The other one a SDH file (subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing), which includes sound effects, speaker IDs and music descriptions. This is my first serious attempt to create an SDH file and it’s likely lacking in some respect. So if anyone has any tips how to improve it, please let me know! (describing music/sounds is hard!) But I had a lot of fun creating it and I hope it may be of use to someone.
These subtitles are timed to the stream of the 15 May 2021, 18:30JST performance. You may have to fiddle around a little to make them fit.
I’ve been sitting on this file for a while, because… it doesn’t really meet the (high) standard I set for my translations. As soon as I watched the stream (back in March), I immediately started on the subtitles to try an make sense of the story. (I failed.) Unfortunately, I had to conclude this show has too many unknowns and question marks to allow a 100% accurate/perfect translation at this time. I’ve come to terms with the fact I’ve done the best I could do for now. By the time the DVD/Blu-Ray gets released, I’ll get back to it and see if any updates are necessary.

so i’ve been watching TONS of touken ranbu and i was wondering exactly how tall all of the characters are so i made a comprehensive chart of their heights instead of studying for midterms
the only height that i’m missing is chiyoganemaru, but since he is categorized as a tachi and based on his build, i think that he’s around the same height as mikazuki munechika
EDIT AS OF 2/7/19 still no sign of chiyoganemaru, chougi, or buzen’s heights and no word of nenekirimaru’s height but i’ve guestimated and will update again when the official heights come out!!
EDIT AS OF 4/14/19 finally got around to adding hakusan to the list!! i was looking at his face size and he’s actually kinda short??? but i guess that makes sense since he’s a tsurugi LOL
