They get him out of Maguuma due to Kaonn’s bargain with the dragon, and it was largely thanks to Taimi’s tinkering to create a comfortable wheelchair that Trahearne (known workaholic) rested long enough to let his legs recover, properly. The cats helped by sleeping in his lap.
