Wedded Bliss - Zipporah Hopkins marries beau, Talon, in intimate beach ceremony!
It’s official! Just a week after her eighteenth birthday, Zibby Hopkins is a Hopkins no more! Zibby, the oldest daughter of Sutton and Chance, is a well-known figure for countless Simericans who watched her weekly on her parents’ reality show. Famously, she was kicked off the show nearly three years ago when she announced her pregnancy with her then-boyfriend. At the time, Sutton said her lifestyle wasn’t compatible with the Christian values the family stood for. And, in front of the watching eyes of millions, Zibby set up her own social media and moved in with Talon’s family. Their son, Jack, now aged two is rarely seen in public but Zibby said today that he is doing well and they are thrilled they now all share a surname.
Indeed, Zibby and her five teenage sisters have taken the battle with their parents even further. Last month, they filed a petition to take Sutton and Chance to court for money they claim they earned from the family reality TV show over the last twelve years. Speaking to the press, Xanthe and Yara Hopkins (both 17) were firm with their demands, “Our presence on TV brought our family hundreds of thousands in appearance fees alone. Our childhoods were broadcast for profit and for religious and political motivations without us ever having the ability to consent. It was an unwritten and unspoken agreement that we would support the family by filming both scripted and unscripted segments. This continued for well over a decade. As we got older, we began to ask our parents whether the money had been set aside for our wellbeing, such as for a college fund or for supporting us in adulthood. We were told that, unequivocally, the money was not ours as the contract gave all money for the family as a collective unit to our father. He held this money to ransom. only offering to give us any if we continued to appear on TV and if we lived a lifestyle they supported. Their strict brand of fundamentalist Christianity is not one many of us now feel connected to and we demand the money we earned without conditions.”
Look at how different they are now too! The five teenagers (ages 13-17), Yara, Xanthe, Winifred, Virginia and Umbria wore revealing bridesmaid dresses and posed happily for the cameras. All five are currently living away from their parents with wider family. In fact, Channel 8 has recently announced a new reality TV series with the six oldest girls. showcasing their move away from the strict sect of Christianity and how they begin to grow up in the world they once abhorred. We can’t wait to see what their lives are like and are interested in what this means for the family show…
[A/N: So… nothing queued yet but this is the set up for where things are going. Since we left off, Sutton has had several more children to put it mildly: Percival Kian, Orson Laith, Nathaniel Malachy, Marjorie Nola, Lilabet Opal, Kaia Primrose, Jasper Quill, Idony Rowena & Hazel Susannah. She is currently pregnant with baby number 20, Genevieve Tess, due when she is nearly 39!]
