Yu Geng Shan Private Cellar - Shanghai Godolphin

Set in an old bunker beneath a former British Consulate Building in China, this mesmerising private wine cellar adds a whole new dimension to stowing away those dusty old bottles. With 1,000 storage lockers built into 27,000 square feet of subterranean space, the cellar features caged structures around the walls housing the rubble generated from the cellar’s construction. This creates a stunning visual aesthetic that carries throughout the space. Combined with gloomy lighting, granite floors and typical bunker staples like the massive vault door used to enter the space, the finished space is a fantastic, contemporary interior. Don’t miss the central tasting area where couples can toast to their marriages after being partnered in the club upstairs.
