“Even if it means oblivion, friends, I’ll welcome it, because it won’t be nothing. We’ll be alive again in a thousand blades of grass, and a million leaves; we’ll be falling in the raindrops and blowing in the fresh breeze; we’ll be glittering in the dew under the stars and the moon out there in the physical world, which is our true home and always was.”

Even though many magazines and retail stores are showing the upcoming spring outfits winter is still here. February has only just begun and the cold will keep on coming for a while longer. So here are some stylish must have items for your closet to prep you for this upcoming month.

1- The Ultimate Beanie: no matter the style this item is always a keeper during those cold days.

2- The Cape: this season it’s all about the cape in every shape and form. So find one you like and pair it with leather leggings and boots and voila you have an adorable outfit for those warmer winter days.

3- The Gloves: every one needs a great pair of gloves so this season find some that have an elegant yet original touch to them. Try for example some black leather gloves with creative pastel patterns.

4- The Winter Whites: even though Labor day has past every woman knows that white or creme always makes  for a sophisticated look in winter.

5- The Flannel: it marks the grunge era but it’s making a comeback in this season’s trends. Tie it around the waist for a total 90’s style look.

6- The Fur and Shearling: the talk this season is all about suede shearling coats and fur vests so find yourself one now to rock this winter in style.

7- The Knit Scarf: what is winter without a good and warm scarf? The trend this season is knits so try to kill two birds with one stone and buy yourself a warm and fuzzy knitted scarf to accessorize any outfit and keep yourself warm during those long walks in the cold.

8- The Ski Chic Attitude: as always in winter people tend to go skying but you don’t have to live near a mountain to pull this look off. Simply find a cool zip-up fleece or a quilted hoodie paired with some comfortable and warm leggings and fur lined boots and there’s a perfect outfit to run around the city on a snow day.

9- The Fur-Lined Boot: it’s no surprise why this item is on the winter wardrobe must have list. This winter keep your foot and toes warm by buying a comfy yet warm pair of fur-lined boots to make any winter outfit strike.

10- The Alpine Sweater: try to find a woolen sweater with alpanic patterns to pair with some boyfriend jeans to make a great outfit for those cold evenings by the fire.

Now that you have some guidelines go shopping and return with these treasured items to make your closet winter ready this year.

Happy hunting and I hope you catch what you’re looking for!

Spicy Outerwear: How To Maintain Maximalism Whilst Keeping Warm This Winter

So apparently last night was the coldest of the year, which I thoroughly believe seeing as I spent most of my time outdoors repeating through chattering teeth, “I can’t feel my toes” (as if it would help make the situation any better.) The problem I face this time of year is maintaining the maximalism element to my outfits whilst keeping warm. What’s the point in wearing a sassy shirt if you’re going to spend the entire day drowned in a black puffa jacket?! The solution is simple…resort to spicy outerwear!
