Some recent redesign preliminary sketches. Mostly bc I’ve decided I want to completely redo my redesigns of their first transformation, and finally make like, full character spreadsheets of each of the girls, and finally nail down a re-design that I’m happy with.
I feel like every time i’ve redesigned their original transformation, they were a bit bland?? Like each girl has such a specific style (at least in the first 3 seasons) and so their transformations should reflect that.
I’m also gonna re design their basic everyday outfits, and give them a few options just bc drawing clothes is fun lol, and like, this whole show is about fashion lmao. but like with floras sketches rn I’m trying to decide what kind of dress for her first transformation.
No Tecna as of right now because her designs give me the most trouble, I love her aesthetic but I find it hard to really add Tec elements and never know how to push her design stylistically, but I’m gonna work on hers soon!
Okay so I hope there are no spelling errors (probably but I’m just gonna let it go since I’ve read over the bios like 8 times) but these are finally done !! Season 5: Let’s do politics dresses and princess gowns
In butterfly verse these replace the flower-applique travesties and are designed by Stella to give the girls a chique grown up look to be taken seriously in those meetings discussing the threat posed by Tritannus and his pollution.
Layla and Stella further get gowns when representing their home realm (Bloom is not officially a princess in function yet bc Domino only gets restored at the end of s5 in butterfly verse)
Originally phoenix but it overlapped too much with the bird aspects of harpix so instead its now COATLNIX!! primarily named after the Xiuhcoatl fire serpent of Culhua-Mexica (Aztec) lore. I ended up kind of combining the phoenix and the xiuhcoatl and weirdly some aspects of Hephaestus for this. I have no idea where my brain originally wanted to go lol.
Requests: Can you please do something with Musa x fairy reader? Where reader likes Musa and always tries to hide it but Musa can feel it and the reader thinks that Musa doesn’t like her and Musa confess and they get together. When your crush is a mind fairy, it really helps to be a mind fairy yourself. For well over five months now, you’ve successfully hidden your feelings for Musa despite being around her constantly. It wasn’t exactly love at first sight for you. Musa had been closed off and isolated herself from - especially - you. Your theory was that she was scared of you because you were another empath, and she wouldn’t be able to hide her feelings from you. But seeing her interact with others, the way she cared so much but was terrified to let herself show it. The way she was always the last one to leave the classroom and the first one to fall asleep in the evenings.
So yeah, it wasn’t love at first sight. But sharing a room with her has made it inevitable for you to not fall in love with her. The only problem with that is she doesn’t seem to think of you that way. Against your better judgment, you once tried to get a sense of her feelings towards you, and you felt guilty for weeks after that. You couldn’t look her in the eyes after that, but it made one thing clear. Musa was not in love with you.
That’s why you spend most of your time either avoiding Musa or using an enormous amount of power to close off your mind from her. She can’t know how you feel. It would be embarrassing. Of course, that leads to situations like the one you’re in right now, where Bloom is questioning why you always tend to disappear from girl’s night.
“Bloom, I promise, I’m not avoiding anyone. I’m just so behind in classes. I need to focus on that.”
“So, you’re telling me you can’t even take one night off in the 365 days of the year to spend time with your friends?” she teases, but you know she’s also partly serious. You twist your ring, feeling thankful that Bloom isn’t an empath because there’s no way you’d be able to hide your feelings right now. The truth is you’re exhausted. Musa is powerful, and she feels what others feel without even trying to, which means you have to work twice as hard to always keep her out.
“I’ll make an appearance, okay?” Bloom claps her hands excitedly and hugs you before running off, leaving you alone to worry about tonight. Of course, there’s no way you’ll be able to keep up your mental shield all night, and you see it in Musa’s eyes the second she feels you.
“I have to go.” You scramble to get your things and get out before Musa realizes that the very distinctive feeling of love came from you. But she follows you because obviously, the one person running from the room is the one who has something to hide. Something that is now out in the open, and you’re not exactly looking forward to her rejection.
“Wait!” she calls after you, but you can’t make your legs stop running. They’ve developed a mind of their own, and their sole mission is to get you as far away from this situation as they can carry you. However, you’re a fairy and not a specialist, so you don’t really have the stamina to get very far. You reach the treeline and double over to catch your breath.
“Can you just wait for a minute!” she yells, not knowing that you have no intention of continuing your escape. You’ll have to face her eventually, so you may as well get it over with now.
“I know you don’t feel the same way. Really there’s nothing to say,” you start looking at the ground.
“Are you kidding me?” You keep quiet, waiting for her to ridicule you for even entertaining the idea that you might one day be an item.
“Why do you think I’ve been avoiding you for so long?”
“You haven’t been avoiding me. I’ve been avoiding you…” you admit begrudgingly. But as you start to think back, you realize that Musa has left the room after you entered just as many times as the other way around.
“Then I guess we’ve been avoiding each other,” she says with a smile, approaching you like one would a wounded animal. For the first time, Musa lets her feelings out for you to genuinely feel, and it’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever experienced. You feel her love caress you before she even reaches you.
“I thought—” Your voice catches in your throat when Musa reaches out and intertwines her fingers with yours.
“Ironically, I’m not very good at… expressing feelings. But I’d be an idiot to not be in love with you.”
“And you’re not an idiot?” you ask without even thinking it through. She laughs heartily and lifts a hand to cup your cheek.
“Nabu was an insufferable creep in season 3, stalking a girl and then completely disregarding her feelings to continue forcing his presence on her until she gave up, and only by completely 180-ing his character to be respectful and wise did season 4 make him likeable” -Anon

Im glad im not the only one who peeped the racism in this post. Its actually quite disappointing that sites like @winxclubconfessions2 is helping to perpetuate these racist ideas.
How is that racist ? I’m sorry but Nabu was definitely stalking Layla, and the worst is that when she called him out for being rude, they straight up told her that she should be «flattered» instead ! This is a pretty toxic and harmful message for a kids’ show. Also just because Nabu is brown doesn’t make him exempt from criticism. People are allowed to not like him. This person said nothing about his race, but you two came and made it racist somehow. If anything, blame the show for making Nabu a creep. And don’t you attack the confessional for doing its job.
Actually, Palladium’s talk on the rain rituals was insteresting. I’m glad my girl Flo pays attention.
Her attention is limited to nature related stuff tho. Later in the chapter she goes with Sky Brandom and Bloom to Eraklyon, her reason? Get a special Eraklyon flower for her project.
Before I get into full Flora gushing, let’s appreciate Musa’s rain dance because it was a great application of magic explained early in the episode. And because she looks great doing it, too.

There’s this little scene with Brandon and Flora where she goes “I’ll ride with you as long as you have a helmet for me,” and Brandom laughs.

My opinion as someone who watched the cartoon: It is not Winx club…
but it doesn’t try to be Winx Club either. Is a series that looks for it’s own identity in a new format and for a diferent target audience than that of the original Winx Club, while basing itself selectively on the original material.
I like to think of it as a T-rated AU fanfiction, but is official and in an audovisual format with a good budget.
That’s what I think.
All things being said: I miss my Flora and Helia SO. MUCH. I was torn between wanting them in and thinking “maybe is for the best they are not here.” lol
I guess is about time I resume watching the old seasons from the cartoon HA.

Yes, another person who does not TOTALLY hate Fate. It is definitely not Winx and does not try to be. That’s what makes it easy to watch.
Yep yep! Though I wouldn’t say easy to watch exactly, only because my mind keept trying and failing to draw paralells between the Live Action and the cartoon for the first 2 episodes before it finally clicked that yeah, they are not trying to be Winx Club, but Fate.
But that’s only because I happen to come from the cartoon. I bet people watching it with a empty mind find it much more easier to absorb at the start :)

On a slightly more serious note, this dance made perfect sense to me, because it’s the kind of dance I associate with farming community parties, the more rural line dancing/boot-scooting type of dance.
And that made sense because the sun is an important part in agriculture and harvests, some crops like wheat -> hay requires a few rain free days in a row.
Ahh~ I see your point! I guess I found it strange because of the southern american vibe when she is of a more eurocentric influence? Being a princess from a court and all that, but it makes so much more sense under your perspective!
