“What didn’t he say,” you scoffed, fingers rubbing at your forehead briefly. “My god Ransom, please tell me you didn’t have your dad buy the publishing house. Please tell me you didn’t do it to make me keep my job. I need you to tell me that those things aren’t true.”

Looking up at him, Ransom’s lips parted briefly before closing his mouth again. At least he had the decency to look ashamed, “Listen, Marshmallow I-”

“I don’t want to hear it,” you cut him off, a torrent of emotions swamping you at that moment. “I don’t want to hear any more lies, Ransom.“
