The Rios Manoeuvre is (very probably a mistake) a very silly series of unfortunate events stemming from Rios’ terrible parking skills. So far it includes:
- Bad parking
- Quark
- A ball-gag
Snippet!
It was hot, too hot. Raffi squinted at the terraforming pylons as they shimmered in the distance. She wondered just how hot it would get on this planet without them. A bead of sweat dripped from her chin and hit the baked leather of her boot. It sizzled.
Cris was taking too long.
The brittle grass outside the mining settlement crunched under Raffi’s boots as she walked around the Terrelian transport ship. It wasn’t exactly an elegant design, but it had probably looked a lot better before the La Sirena shaped dent in the aft hull plating. She watched Cris squat down to inspect the damage.
“I think you might actually be getting worse at this, babe.”
“Piss off.”
“All this space,” Raffi gestured at the scrubland surrounding them, “and you still hit it. It’s impressive really.”
*giggle* *giggle* *snort*

So… I got stuck on this one because I think I wanted it to be longer than the punchline was worth. XD
But the basic gist is this: The Iron Triangle are happily retired in Yucun, not a care in the world… except that on this afternoon, Wu Xie is worried because he hasn’t seen Xiaoge. They had had plans to pick up some stuff for the restaurant, and it’s not like Xiaoge to disappear when they’ve made plans. So, he goes to Pangzi asking if he’s seen him. Pangzi hasn’t seen him and suggests he text him. Wu Xie has already tried that and gotten no response, but ok, he’ll give it another shot.
And he gets back a single character response: “ 毛 “ (”Hair”)
And he is… VERY VERY CONFUSED. Because EH? Hair?? WTF??
So at this point, he and Pangzi are now actually starting to get a little concerned. Did Xiaoge hit his head somehow? Is he lying in a ditch, trapped, desperately hoping they’ll come save him? WHAT ON EARTH DOES ‘HAIR’ MEAN???
So they go frantically looking around the house for him.
They find him.
He is indeed trapped. They were right about that.
He’s trapped… in the moss garden… under a pile of cats.
Who are happily napping away in the sun.
You see, Xiaoge TRIED to respond to Wu Xie’s text with “māo” (猫, or “cat”), but his finger slipped when he went to actually select a character and he got “máo” (毛, or “hair”), instead.
But you know… the cats are comfortable, and the sun is warm, so he guesses this is his life now. Wu Xie will understand. Some things are more important than errands.
Wu Xie and Pangzi take about a thousand pictures before curling up with him and the cats for a mid-afternoon nap.

(This ficlet brought to you by the fact that every time I am chatting with a friend on the computer and my cat decides “IT IS CUDDLE TIME, NOW, MOMMY” and climbs on top of me, that I usually can just barely manage to get out “CAT” into the chat to explain my soon to be absence before I am AGGRESSIVELY CUDDLED BY 16 POUNDS OF CAT. XD)

I couldn’t take my eyes off of Hoseok. He was standing there with furrowed brows, but his stance was relaxed. He didn’t want to look at anything else either. Seokjin lifted my chin, and started kissing my neck. My breath caught, and my lids slid closed.
“Don’t you want to kiss her neck, too?” Jin asked, his voice a little louder. “Don’t you want to smell her perfume up close?

“Oh my God, what a coincidence!“ She is already getting up, her eyes nailed at the entrance to the restaurant. "Alexia! Alexiaaaaa! Hiiii!”
You stiffen in the chair. Of course it had to be another Alexia. Obviously it is another woman named after Namjoon’s ex-girlfriend. Fate can not be so cruel to you. Not just now that he and you have finally understood each other and your nerves are starting to fade.
You turn slowly. The beautiful, slender woman, long as a young man and elegant as a ballerina, she smiles and cames with light steps towards your table, hair moving gracefully in slow motion, parading her charm.
You feel bile rise in your throat.
“Of course,” you mutter under your breath in dismay. “Who else could it be…”

“Thank you!” He says standing up and placing a soft kiss on your lips. Namjoon pulls his pants up but doesn’t fix them. “If you give me just a minute or two…”
He trails off as he takes his mouse on the table and clicks through his softwares and files, probably saving up and properly shutting down the equipaments. Once he is done -much quicker than any time before- he sits you on his table, standing in between your legs. He caresses your thigh down to your knee pulling your leg around his waist. His hand brushes your hair away from your face, lifting your chin he places a soft kiss against your lips.
“Even though you look gorgeously hot in this dress, I think this needs to go…” Namjoon pulls the sleeves of your dress down your shoulders.

“Oh, Y/n, I’m so glad you are not one of those young noisy neighbors” Mrs. Han says raising her voice a bit, as she said eyes the couple from 107, you know she is doing it on propose, every one managed to hear their fights and they make-up sex too. “And you are also talented, playing such beautiful melodies on the piano that was left in your apartment. At least one good thing that messy boy left behind.” She makes the sing of the cross in a protective form.
You frown looking at her, she always said good things about the apartment owner, now she is calling him messy and calling for protection? Also, you can’t play the piano, you agree that the melody was beautiful, but you always thought it was coming from her apartment, she is the one always blasting classical music.
Before you have the chance to question her about this matters the building manager asks every one to take a sit so he can start the meeting. Taking a place by Mr. Song, he smiles and seems to turn up his hearing aid device.
“How are you dear?” He smiles patting your shoulder with a lot more strength than necessary. “Seems like they finally found someone who is not afraid of ghosts”

Tommy pictures it now: leather strap slung over his shoulder, hands hovering over well-worn wood. Not quite touching– Wilbur never had gotten around to teaching him– but reverent fingers tracing the strings, fluttering over the fret. Tapping out the off-beat rhythm of a song Wilbur had sung, back when loneliness grew over their home with the tenacity of jungle vines.

Well, then. I’m afraid all I have to share is pitiful attempt at version control. I’m currently on chapter 6.
It’s a longfic. It’s what I do. I’m actually quite pleased with the chapter titling and how it moves the narrative to each character to give them a chance to drive the story. It feels fitting for FF6.
