i think it’s incredibly important that wynonna recognizes and notices nicole’s mental health decline right now because it not only shows wynonna’s growth and her huge heart (and love for her best friend), it shows that sometimes it’s not necessarily the romantic partner that sees what’s going on in their partner, it’s someone else.
friendships are so incredibly important in a show like this and i feel like how they’re dealing with nicole’s depression is very real, especially with the reactions from the other characters. waverly just wants everything to go back to what it was. nicole feels guilty that she couldn’t have done more. wynonna’s just glad to be home and wants to save her family. these are three powerful women that are going to deal with this incredibly differently and i’m glad that they aren’t oversimplifying a situation that’s incredibly difficult for everyone involved.
sometimes i wonder if wynonna just watches waverly and nicole, like in the proposal scene, and just hurts because love has always been harder for her, more painful, and how she feels less deserving
