There was something about the person in the last painting that I liked so I wanted to paint a full portrait of him. When I put the mustache on him it kind of looked like Prince to me. Then I remembered the phrase “prince of painters” and I googled it. There are several old masters referred to as the prince of painters so I went with it. This is my thought process when I paint sometimes.——-
