I started serving at this brewery part-time over a year ago and though I haven’t been able to work the last few months I still hold everyone here very near and dear to my lil heart ❤ They’ve always encouraged me to hang my paintings inside, and they were instantly on board after I proposed the idea for this series of murals in and around the building. It was so fun! And I love them and miss them!

The idea behind this painting changed as it went along. Originally I tried to make some people obscured by trees. Now it’s a couple getting frisky in the bushes or trees personified. On another level it could be the two halves of a single person. But it’s not really for me to tell you anyways.

There was something about the person in the last painting that I liked so I wanted to paint a full portrait of him. When I put the mustache on him it kind of looked like Prince to me. Then I remembered the phrase “prince of painters” and I googled it. There are several old masters referred to as the prince of painters so I went with it. This is my thought process when I paint sometimes.——-
