She also told that her grandpa(second on the right) and his friends are so well dressed because this photo was taken after church day. I believe that was at sunday. Here in Portugal. Mostly in villages, Sunday it’s a church day. I remember of seeing my ancestors hanging out after church, so this photo is very interesting and familiar to me. 3- finally she sent me a photo of her grandpa, called Manuel Morfin. @nataliaovsanchez told me: “He was in immigrant and came to the United States at the age of fifteen and was sent back many times but he finally made it through ! He as well lost his hand but no matter what he worked hard. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 82. He is and always will be my inspiration to me. I hope you see this and keep up the fantastic work! :)” how amazing life! How amazing inspiration your grandpa is to you and to all of us! Never give up! (….)I think he may even be younger than that as i know he joined up to get out of Hull and away from his stepdad which he never liked. I’ve always been curious of this image of him; a young man at the beginning of world war 2. The innocence in those eyes that were lost after the war finished. I have hundreds of his original love letters he sent my mum during those years from 1942 to 1945. Absolutely priceless , a window into the passionate thoughts and feelings of a young man who became my dad.(…) “
