#3d animation
Hey there everyone, hope you’re doing well. I should update you on things. Writing and personal related.
A Fun Little Swim Part 2
Draft is complete! A little over 9200 words. It was fun to write in that series again. Now it just needs some tweaking before it goes into editing. Nothing too serious. That said…
Future Writing Projects
I’m pausing on writing for now. The reason is rather simple: I now have a significant backlog of four stories that need editing: A Fun Little Swim Part 2, Scene from an abandoned bathroom, Those Who Came Before, and Cantata for the Wolf Moon. And I have no editors to speak of.
My primary editor has been AWOL for a few months now. They were having a time that predated the current crisis affecting everyone, and now are likely dealing with a combination of those two issues at once. It’s hard to blame them for being unresponsive of late.
That said, I don’t have any backup editors to speak of either. The one other editor I worked with in the past is inactive at this point. There may be one or two others that I could speak to on doing edits, but I’m highly uncertain about them. After that, not many options, and the writers I’ve spoken to have been less than optimistic about finding an editor.
In theory, I could just contact the Volunteer Editors at Literotica, and have someone do that. But there are two problems I contend with regarding that. One, I need to trust these folks, no easy task. Second, I would not be able to clear my backlog, at least not initially. Cantata cannot be published on LE at all, due to their rules. It could be published at Hentai-Foundry, maybe a couple other places, but definitely not there. In theory, if I find someone I could work with, maybe I could have them work on this, but 1. The content matter might be too much for them, 2. LE gets snippy when you ask for VEs to do work that isn’t going to be published on their site.
I’ve been circling right now trying to figure out the best solution. It might take a while before these stories see the light of day outside of certain circles.
The Crisis At Hand
So, needless to say, since I last wrote here, the crisis was only beginning to develop. Now it’s a complete clusterfuck. I will only further comment on matters as it relates to me.
I started my new job in the middle of March. The first month went pretty swimmingly, all things considered. Work from home (mandated since before I began) was nothing to new to me, and I tend to be rather introverted and responsible anyway.
That said, a couple days ago, I spoke to my company’s owner, and they had essentially put me on work reduction. I’m still employed, and I still have benefits, but now I’m working part-time from now until (the latest) end of July. Not great, but also not the worst. It’s worth noting that, the day I started my new job, my old company shut down with layoffs and furloughs. There was a greater than 95% chance I would’ve been laid off. So look at it that way!
But needless to say, I’m not great, but I’m better than most. Hope you guys are all doing okay.
What’s Next?
Well, with the writing on hold, there are other projects I want to work on. Some of which I will not discuss here. One thing I will discuss, though: Animation. I have more time on my hands now because of this (hopefully) temporary reduction. With my main writing concerns addressed, I think it’s high time I start learning to do animation with the extra time I now have. We will see how this plays out.
If the editing situation resolves itself, I may return to writing at some point. I do have an idea of how Part 3 of A Fun Little Swim should pan out, and the basic format of Part 4 (which is the final big part…an epilogue may follow as its own part) is been sketched out. We’ll see what happens.
Anyway, that’s it for me. Stay frosty, everyone.
