Smack Me Baby One More Time AU

After being dared to smack at least 10 people before midnight, Character A has to race around New York City on New Year’s Eve to find legitimately viable reasons to hit ten civilians within the next 4 hours and 53 minutes or they would lose the bet – and more than they can give up.

Torn AU

The holidays are always difficult for Character A: the shop is always a bit colder, fewer people stumble in looking for a classic to curl up with by the fire – and it’s all made a bit worse after they are given news that their grandkids wouldn’t be able to make it this year due to one issue or another. They had stopped accepting excuses a very long time ago.

They had already read every book there was to be read, so while they closed their eyes to take a short nap during one of the least busy times of the year, it was unsurprising that they heard the very quiet ripping noise, like a chapter being torn from its bindings, echoing silently from the corner of the shop, followed by the soft click of the back door closing and small bare feet running into the night.
