Paris will always be in danger as long as the Miraculous exist. Luka helps Marinette and Adrien destroy all the Miraculous to avoid having their power fall into the wrong hands ever again, and, in doing so, Adrien dies with the Peacock Miraculous. Luka finds out what he’s done only after seeing his love fade into nothing and the feather that created him escape the ring on Luka’s finger. Luka struggles with Adrien’s death and how he was the one to deal the fatal blow. Meanwhile, the world still doesn’t know about the Miraculous’ existence, and is quick to speculate about how Shadowmoth gained his power, where the son of Paris’ supervillain has gone, and the dead body found in the basement of the Agreste mansion. Rumors fly, and they aren’t good. Only the previous Miraculous holders know what truly happened to Adrien, and they mourn silently so that the trauma the Miraculous brought can finally be laid to rest. It takes Luka a year to write his thoughts and ask forgiveness so that he can finally forgive himself.

I know you used to love listening to my music, but I haven’t been able to play anything lately. I just can’t. Nothing sounds right without my harmony… so it’s been quiet.
Juleka said if I can’t put what I’m feeling into sound, I should try writing instead. I’ve been trying, but I’m not sure it’s helping. There aren’t any words strong enough…
A year ago, today, I helped Marinette destroy all the Miraculous. I know there was no way for me to know that you were a senti-being, and there was no way I would have done what I did if I knew that it’d cost your life - even if it meant keeping Paris in jeopardy. I still blame myself. I keep thinking about how I took your life when you had already willingly given it to me. I didn’t even know…
Paris has recovered and found peace again, but I’m still hurting.
