Thinking about a Dazzler series again. Was gonna play with some colors but since fan art seems to be the only place her natural hair color still exists, I said nah.
I’m all for mixing it up - especially as a pop star - but her hair has been wigged, buzzed, black, pink and bleached for far too long. Don’t give me makeover BS and pretend that recognizability doesn’t matter when we’re not dyeing Storm’s hair brown, Jean’s hair black, Polaris’ hair red or covering Rogue’s streak.
Dazz herself should be glowing more, but I’m fairly certain staring at this for hours over the last week fucked up my eyes so we’ll just say it’s a demonstration of how precise her control is. I recommend viewing at a distance. With some sunglasses.
And yes, she is simultaneously blasting light AND sound wuuuuuut?
Just an Omega*-level mutant who can resurrect herself and make her own swords and has deep ties to The Mojoverse and would be prime PR for Krakoa with nothing to do. **stares aggressively**
Of course Dazz isn’t in any X-books, she’s too busy selling out shows, gracing magazine covers, killing the makeup game, leading protests, fundraising and stomping runways.
… And I will continue to tell myself that to hold the rage of her blatant disrespect at bay.
On her design journey to Disco Space Goddess (bottom two), Dazzler had a brief layover in Phoenix because at some point everyone will, hmm? Only this fiery fowl of chaotic destruction was all “Ooh, lights! Such pretty! Less kill?” and Ali managed to get shit done like healing worlds and stuffs.
As fun/horrific as being a host for Murder Bird would be for her, I’d much rather she level-up naturally or with some residual oomph left behind from Galactus or Beyonder’s power ups so Dazzler Phoenix remains in the ever growing “Forever WIP” folder.
