I guess today I’ll sit down and collect all the alliumshipping art I made over the past years and put them in a file for anyone who would want to download it. I was getting a bit nostalgic after downloading all the media on this blog yesterday and going through my old art. It was a very good time and the fandom helped me through some hard events in the past with being nice to me and my art v.v

I have 3 ships I like and ship with Dark Magician and this is the who, what and why or whatever and what my headcanons are (so this is all hc!)

Alliumshipping (Dark Magician x Yugi)
My blog is mostly that I guess. So yeah, OTP for a long time and it’s a bit lonely, cause most people don’t seem to ship it, although quite a lot of you seem to like my posts, so I’m at least okay with itx)Ship is usually set after canon,Atem gone and all. The magician in this one might be Mahaad, but he doesn’t have to be. I usually prefer if he isnt since I’m first also good with Sealshipping and Atem being with Mahaad in ther afterlife and second I just like to think about DM being his own personality, maybe split from Mahaad or not, just the one who styed with Yugi from the moment he got the card. But it can also be Mahaad who came back from the afterlife, idc, if you want to see it that way *shrugs* doesn’t really matter for me.
Overall it’s a peaceful kinda slice of life ship, with a lot of fluff and comfort between the two. DM being able to sometimes interact with the physical world and becomes better in doing so as he and Yugi get closer (he is just ghost-like at first, like monster spirit things are - if you see them as canon it is (I don’t really, but it’s convenient for my ship, so that’s that)).
Yugi and Dark Magician making a great couple here due to the fitting personalities. They both are loyal and gentle, but also courageous and fierce, relentlessly defending their principles and friends (try to talk shit about Yugi when DM is around and see where this brings you). I find it very fitting that the Dark Magician is Yugis signature/favourite monster, because Yugi is a very strong character, not physical, but mentally (he just doesn’t see it sadly) and therefor a magcial creature is more fitting than a warrior or dragon.
Also, I just really like the dynamic small-tall with characters x) So…Alliumshipping is very harmonic, somewhat quiet, gentle, sweet, enchanting (see what I did here), protecting and just cute.

I also have some sort of fantasy AU where after doing the deeds and saving the world, Yugi becomes the apprentice of the mage. I never drew this regarding this tho.
DM is an old being, stuck in the physical world and immortal because he didn’t get to fullfil his duty in protecting a former prince and saving the world from dark powers. So he waits for a second chance and got it with Yugi and Yami (they’re brothers here). After succeeding he wants to go on and leave the mortal realm finally, but Yugi just begs him to take him as an apprentice because he doesn’t want him to go and since Yami is older he takes the throne and Yugi is left in second place anyway, so what could he do otherwise. So DM stays. Just a small plot ramble v.v it’s also just cute. I like cute.

Runeshipping (Dark Magician x Celtic Guardian)
I picked the name with Yugihell some years back (2017/18?! it’s been a while) because we found it fitting for an elf x magician ship. I also think I just started shipping them because of a story Yugihell wrote and because they quickly formed personalities in my head that are definitely not canon.
The DM here isn’t Mahaad at all. No correlation, different personality, all fantasy monster world. He is cocky, a poser, a casanova, charming, a trickster and a troll. But also a good person and really doesn’t mean to do any harm, he just likes to mock people he likes and from whom he know they can take it. But still, he really is a loyal friend and can be serious if needed. holds high morals and helps whoever needs help.
And then there is CG who is usually just annoyed by him, but has a crush on the good looking magician, so he sticks around. He is small in my hc, because as I said, I like the small-tall-dynamic, and here it’s used for comical stuff. Overall this ship is just fun and I like CG being an angry gremlin at DM but also crushing hard, just too proud to admit it. He also is constantly blushing at the tips of his ears when being mocked which just leads to more mocking because DM thinks it’s cute.

There is no big brain involved. I think it’s funny and I like the dynamic I made up in my head v.v Also, I like to give other monsters personalities in this hc, too. Like Gaia is there, also BLS and other magicians and dragons (Timaeus, Curse of Dragon, Red-Eyes, BEWD, Gandora, Chaos Emperor Dragon and a lot more) and even small critters. Idk, they all deserve love and can live rent free in my head.

Signatureshipping (Dark Magician x Blue-Eyes White Dragon)
Also a name Yugihell came up with (if I remember corectly) and a ship I found out about also with stories he wrote.
I have no real hc for this. I just like it. Either DM and the literal dragon being close friends in a fantasy setting or in the canon world. Could also be Mahaad and Kisara tbh, I don’t care. But usually I think of it in a neutral approach like a random DM and a random BEWD. also has some monsterfucker energy right there coughs, ehem. that’s all. Magician and dragon being best bros.

So, you see, 3 different Dark Magicians, I don’t know if anyone was confused by my posts, but IF, well, here is an explanation.
I might also consider other ships including DM because he is just a fav character? I don’t restrict myself to just one ship with a character I like, I’m flexible. Watch me do the shipping limbo just ducking under any canon stuff as a descent into deep levels of bullshitteryppery in the future. maybe.
