Had to channel my excitement for the announcement of the TSV short film that is in the making by the creator himself by creating my own fake movie poster
And if you’ve never heard of ‘The Sun Vanished’, it started out as an ARG on Twitter about a guy who finds out through the news that the sun had disappeared and that panic and riots broke out. Soon after, strange and frightening things start to happen where flickering lights appear outside and people begin to act strange or end up dying. He is forced to survive this apocalyptic scenario in a world plunged in darkness. I promise, it’ll be worth your time! Also, the creator has made an indiegogo to fund the making of the short film that will centre around an enstranged couple who is caught up in the global catastrophe. The link to donate is [HERE].
The first ARG, or “alternate reality game,” was Ong’s Hat, which started in 1993. The idea was that the absolutely abandoned New Jersey Pine Barrens town of Ong’s Hat was the site of a hippie cult of white jazz musicians known as “The Moorish Science Temple” who’s members included some theoretical physicists who created “cognitive chaos theory,” which they used to travel between dimensions.
One of the main architects of Ong’s Hat would later be one of the creators of the later overly complex online hoax, John Titor, Time Traveler.
