Had to channel my excitement for the announcement of the TSV short film that is in the making by the creator himself by creating my own fake movie poster
And if you’ve never heard of ‘The Sun Vanished’, it started out as an ARG on Twitter about a guy who finds out through the news that the sun had disappeared and that panic and riots broke out. Soon after, strange and frightening things start to happen where flickering lights appear outside and people begin to act strange or end up dying. He is forced to survive this apocalyptic scenario in a world plunged in darkness. I highly encourage checking out the story for yourself on the Twitter account @TheSunVanished by scrolling to the very 1st tweet to start reading and watching the videos. I promise, it’ll be worth your time! Also, the creator has made an indiegogo to fund the making of the short film that will centre around an enstranged couple who is caught up in the global catastrophe. The link to donate is [HERE].
We reached our minimum goal less than 48 hour after launching our indiegogo campaign and we are FREAKING OUT!
We’re so excited, we can barely function.
What we’d like to do now is see if we can raise DOUBLE our budget! Doing so would help us pay our authors more, and possibly commission more art to include in/with this book!

FAQs:
Is the thumbprint graphic the cover art? Nope! This is just a temporary image we are using for this project.
Are the authors getting paid? Absolutely. All the authors signed a contract which entitles them to payment through royalties up to a certain amount. Authors will receive royalties from books sold via the campaign as well.
Is the artist getting paid? Yes, of course! Everyone working on this book is getting PAID!
Why are you crowdfunding this project? This was a somewhat big project for us and one that is very near and dear to our hearts. We exist as a company because of two things: Sherlock Holmes fandom and fan fiction authors. We wanted to make this project, which combines these two things we care about SO much, a bit special with more options than our current model would allow (things like hardcovers and bonus art!). In order to do that, we realized we needed to think outside the box. That’s how we decided to go this route.
Will you crowdfund all your books now? Nah, we won’t be doing that. We might crowdfunding some larger projects in the future, but definitely no plans to do this for every title!

Speaking of which, we are just past 25% of our total goal for funding with LESS THAN a week to go in our campaign. If we are able to get to get to at least 45% of the full sum, that may be enough to get us to the festival.
We have been blown away by the generosity of our communities thus far — thank you SO MUCH for supporting us and believing in Shadow Tender. I cannot begin to express how much it means to be able to share these ideas with you and to hear affirmation that yes, this work is necessary, timely, and welcome in the world.
Can we do it? Can we actually make it to Taiwan?! As we near the final, deciding week of our Indiegogo campaign, we are working extra hard to reach out far and wide to encourage people to donate and make Shadow Tender a reality. This is SO up my alley when it comes to beastly, feral movements–I’m so grateful to have an outlet for the type of movement that feels like it’s running just under my skin, more often than not…
To take a page from The Princess Bride; It’s got masks, and ballet, and monsters; butoh, and biofeedback technology, and prosthetics; martial arts, modern dance, and circus arts; Jungian psychology, alchemical philosophy, and neuroscience; fearsome things and tender things.
I can’t imagine a project I would be more excited to work on right now. This is one of the largest projects I’ve ever tackled, and what I truly want my art to achieve: using the transformative magic of costumes and movement to help people understand more about themselves and even find the tools to interact more healthily with each other.
I’m working with some of the most talented artists and performers I know, but even as excited and determined as we are, we’re not going to be able to do this alone.
