Shared this video with our Patrons last month, thought Tumblr might like to see it now too ♥
“We started filming at 8 am and didn’t leave til like 5 in the afternoon… we had some outtakes, and clips we had taken ahead of time that we never did get to use. So, enjoy our chaos.
I should have made this video a long time ago. I was so busy during the Kickstarter run, and then after the Kickstarter ended, I just didn’t want to look at the clips. It felt bad, it hurt. When filming I was so excited, I kept telling myself “Wow! This is really happening! Almost a year of working on this, and we’re finally making the video, and soon it will go live and all my dreams will come true!"I was a little too optimistic I guess.
We had so many struggles in our first year, after multiple companies charging thousands of dollars for prototypes they didn’t deliver. To having to throw together a dress for the doll literally the night before because the seamstress used WAY too thick of a fabric. To even having to edit the video at the very last second because I was just not happy with the way it was being done. Even right before the trip, we were contacted by a company that claimed to work with a shark from shark tank, told us for $20,000 they would take care of EVERYTHING and gave us links to (successful) Kickstarters they claimed to have worked with. And we almost believed them.
But even after all that, I am proud of what we did accomplish. Even if we had to do a bit of ‘starting over’ now. We did good. And we learned a lot, so now we’re prepared to be even better.
The future of Curvy Girls is looking brighter than ever. And that’s really why I was now able to go back, because these clips no longer make me sad from what could have been. They’re now a stepping stone on the path of what is going to be.
And I’m excited.”
