The greatest part of Candlenights is that it is so all-consumingly long! My gift for @evitcani-writes for the @ttazce2017 Candlenights Exchange! This is less of a single piece and more of a hodgepodge of multiple ones, and hopefully youll still enjoy that! It meant I got to draw more Kravitz and Magnus so we all win here.

I’m home sick and have been watching a Lot of Monster Factory and couldn’t get through Dino Lansberry without hearing Angus and Taako just being completely ridiculous

guys the TAZ candlenights live show for 2018 was so good
[id: a four panel comic of Angus McDonald from The Adventure Zone. He is a dark-skinned boy with big round glasses and a sweater that’s a little too big for him, and he’s holding a toy in his hands. The toy is of Jeff Angel, an aarakocra wearing shorts with a halo over his head, that’s melted in some places and the limbs are slightly skewed. Angus is looking at it with skepticism.
The next panel shows Taako, Magnus and Merle. Taako is a dark skinned elf who’s hat is severly singed. Magnus is an east asian man with a black eye and bloodied clothes. Merle is a tan skinned dwarf with some blood on his clothes and messed-up hair. They are all looking at angus with worry and hope.
The next panel shows Angus, holding the toy and looking slightly stunned. In th enext panel, he holds the toy close to his chest, smiles and says “it’s perfect.”]
Thinking about that blupjeans baby ango au again where Barry raises Angus himself while a lich. The thing is though when Angus is real young, little baby boy, barry can’t just leave him while his living self goes off on missions to try and find Lup. He can’t being Angus with him because his living self always dies and he’s not putting his son in that sort of danger. He doesn’t know what to do and he wants to leave Angus with someone he trusts and not just some stranger.
So one day Taako wakes up to find a toddler in his food cart with a note telling him to just watch him for a bit. A few months at most, k thx bye. Lich Barry watches from the shadows just long enough to be sure Taako will actually listen to the note before going to revive, and this starts an extremely confusing and inexplicable part of Taako’s life where for like six years every so often he’ll have to babysit this kid he doesn’t know for anywhere from a few weeks to several months. He never sees who drops him off or picks him up, one day he’ll wake up and Angus will be gone as fast as he showed up.
When Angus gets a little older he explains that his dad is a ghost but sometimes he comes back to life and has to go do important living stuff and he’s not allowed to come. Taako is pretty sure that’s all bullcrap but whatever he’ll let the kid have his ghost Santa dad or whatever.
The babysitting stops after sizzle it up ends, because barry has a hard time actually finding Taako after that and Angus is getting older anyway. The next time they see each other is when Angus sneaks on the rockport limited and is extremely excited to see his uncle Taako again.
