synopsisin which hours in a school library become the highlight of your hectic life
author’s note alright, bare with me guys. one ) i haven’t written in like forever so yes, ik this is hot garbage. two ) this is my first anime related drabble so yay to that. hope it didn’t too bad, i really like the concept so there’s that lol ,, also did not proofread ‍♀️

School, like any other student, was something you dreaded. The stress, the people, the work, and did you mention the stress? It was hard to find time for yourself. Life was constantly taking you on a ride that had no stops, no breaks. Especially with it being your third year, there was no time for slacking. To say you had no hope for anything to make you feel clear in such a crowded time in your life was an understatement. The outcome of you finding something like that seemed impossible.

Thatisuntil your beloved librarian gave you the opportunity every other weekday to give a hand around the school library. Although it might’ve been turned down by your peers, you did anything but. It was like a dream getaway. A dusty, spider infested getaway with a strange leather smell. But you couldn’t care less. How could you when the other slot was filled by someone like Sugawara?

Not only was the job of helping around the library one of the most easiest jobs you’ve ever had, you had someone to enjoy it with. When it felt like there was nothing else to be done, Sugawara would take your wrist and drag you around those tall bookcases.

Keeping your conversations and laughter to a minimum near the comics, sneaking kisses in the section of dictionaries, simply sitting and doing nothing with your backs against the science fiction shelves. It was like anything was possible with him when you two were in that maze of books.

Like for once the outside world meant nothing.

It was still a mystery to you how you and Sugawara got this close. Months before this the only time you two would exchange words were as acquaintances, simple hello’s and the occasional goodbye. Apparently something in the universe had clicked, now it was like you knew everything about him. From his favorite color to his fears. And vice versa.

Of course, the fear of someone walking along those tall bookcases to find you and Sugawara being borderline disobedient lingered in the back of your head. But the adrenaline you got every time he’d grab your wrist and whisk you away would always overshadow that feeling.

Nothing, not one thing in the world, compares to when you were on library duty with Sugawara.

synopsisin which your days are usually long and tiring, but the love you come home to makes it all worth it

As soon as your back pressed the door to your apartment shut, you sighed. Finally your long day had come to an end. It was so exhausting that you just had to take a moment to slide down said door and lay against it.

If it weren’t for the smell of cinnamon sugar trailing around your living room you wouldn’t have gotten up from your slump. With furrowed eyebrows you headed to your kitchen first. Everything looked the same and there was definitely no desserts in sight.

Then it clicked, your boyfriend was completely free today. Which meant he had the apartment to himself. To why it smelt of a coffee shop was still unbeknownst to you but you knew it was his doing.

“Noya,” You called throughout your apartment. Basically hopping down your halls as you tried to remove your unforgiving work shoes.

Silence.

Your curiosity peaked when you heard a familiar sound, tune rather. By time you got to your shared bedroom, your smile was so wide it nearly reached your ears.

Swinging the door open, you were not braced for what you saw but you definitely weren’t upset about it.

“Baby! You’re home!” Your boyfriend’s head appeared from the opening flaps of the fort that was placed smack dab in the center of your bedroom.

Your shoes nearly didn’t get to hit the floor before Nishinoya was leeching onto you. Instantly attacking your face, neck, and collarbones with butterfly kisses. Not forgetting the spot that he knew tickled and made you shudder every time.

“I don’t think you understand how much I’ve missed you,” You returned his embrace, realizing how much you had missed him as well.

Your laughter was muffled in his neck. “What’s with the fort?”

Nishinoya pulled away, taking your wrist and dragging you to his creation. “I’m glad you asked. I figured since you were going to be away all day, that I’d make myself of some use here. Don’t worry, I know what youre thinking, this is not all I did,”

“Does this mean you finally did the laundry or what?” You shimmied off your coat.

Finally. But that’s besides the point! I also knew you were going to be exhausted by time you got home, so I made this!” You couldn’t resist but have a fond look in your eyes as your boyfriend gave you jazz hands.

“Great, a fort I’m going to have to help you clean up.” A snort left you. Nishinoya pouted, leaning over and clasping his hands around yours.

“Don’t be such a negative Nancy. I tried my hardest.” You kissed his pout away, laughing as you pulled away.

“I’m kidding. Thank you, I appreciate it.”

Hand in hand, Nishinoya lifted you off of the bed and helped you to the floor with him.

Without a word, you followed him inside. “As you can see, I have candles, your favorite snacks, our song playing,” It didn’t shock you that Nishinoya had put this much thought into making you happy. It was just something did automatically.

You were grateful for him. Even if he did go over the top, it was always meant to make you happy.

Your eyes followed Nishinoya as he continued to speak. Rambling on about what movie you should watch. But you couldn’t resist the urge to stop him mid sentence. Not even a second later, Nishinoya returned your sudden kiss. Giggling against your lips.

“What?” He inquired.

“Nothing. I just love you is all,”

Nishinoya grinned, pecking your cheek. “I love you too. Now, Tanaka keeps telling me about this movie but I don’t really think it’s your speed,”

You didn’t mind long days if it meant you always had nights like this to come home to.
