Hey guys I’m really trying to get some writing (and prompts!) done today, but I have massive writers block, so I was thinking that these might be nice to answer! At least until my brain starts working again.

In The Eye of A Hurricane

Special thanks to @ush3, who requested this. I’m so glad that I can put my irrational hurricane fears into writing which is also why they’re all super angsty, for which I apologise.

1) “You never know pain until all you’ve ever known is torn away from you in just one day. Your home. Your family. Everything. Just gone, like they were swept away.”

“By a brush?” The child asked, listening intensely. The man only laughed bitterly in reply.

“By a storm. Bigger than any brush that’s ever been and twice as dangerous.”

2) “Why do they name storms after people?”

“Because they both destroy lives.”

3) A tree blocked the road. But not just any old tree. She recognised the twisted old trunk and painted roots, the carvings she and her friends had made during countless sleepovers. The curse words her older siblings had nailed into it, with stolen screws and hammers.

Planks of dried wood smashed around it, broken on impact.

The sirens in the distance became louder, along with the cries of the man stuck under, one leg surely needing to be amputated.

How could something that had created so much joy suddenly create so much pain?

4) “A storm? Oh, that’s okay. I love storms. They’re very soothing.”

Their grandparents just looked at each other, shaking their heads.

“Not these types of ones, you don’t. You better follow your grandmother dear.”

5) “A hurricane? Isn’t there anything we can do? Like get some guns, or send out helicopters-”

“This is a school bake sale, not fucking Sharknado! Where would we even get them?”

Not A Writing Prompt

Pray for me guys. Hurricane Ophelia has already gotten the whole country on red alert and has shut down every school. I’m like seriously freaking out right now and it isn’t even eight. I think I’m actually the only one bc everyone I know seems to be very calm about the whole situation, especially my friends who just seem to be excited about no school.

So I have a free day.

Yayyyy.

I figured that if I have some free time I may as well answer my inbox, so there’s that for you crazy kids to enjoy.

Let’s just hope I don’t get blown away before I answer them all
