I’m sorry but this quote fits exactly with Astolfo. Roland left my boy for 3 days in Gevaudan and he ended up overdosing, remembered traumas from his past (well that’s Naenia’s fault) and Roland picked him up covered in his own blood and exhausted. Many parallels are drawn between Astolfo and Vanitas but I wonder if Roland also made connections. I wonder if that explains why he has taken a liking to Vanitas besides knowing his past and why he is so eager to help him because he has failed a bit with Astolfo. But then I also wonder why he does not treat or stop treating astolfo as he does with Vanitas. After that we don’t really know what their interactions look like because we have too few, so maybe he still acts this way toward him.”

“From what we know so far, Vanitas and Astolfo’s backstories are pretty similar. It’s interesting to see how each of them grew from their situations, and where their bitterness lies. Vanitas hates the church and everyone to a degree, and Astolfo especially hates the vampires, but also everyone to a degree.“

“I really like Astolfo and I hope we get to learn even more about him and see him interact with other characters. I also really want to see him mellow out. He is such an interesting character and would hate for him to just be the murderous psycho.“

“A lot of people talk about this panel where Olivier says that Roland is “keeping Astolpho company”, to know if it’s as a friend or something else far from friends. In French, on this panel, Olivier says “tenir tête à Astolphe”, which basically mean “stand your ground against this person”. So I think it’s more that Roland is the only one capable of standing against Astolpho when he’s going too far, or something like that.“

“I have read theory on digital-dhampirs, that says N°70 could be astolfo’ sister, I think it pretty cool and can create a good drama,expecially if she ’d turn in first turned!vampire.
Whatever n°70 is, and they alive ,I hope they got grudge about misha and Vanitas.
They abandoned them, and also despite Vanitas’ actions to save other people by staying are noble they are delusive.
Vanitas and other children could die in every moment, Doctor could take more people for his tests ,so there would be more victims in everycase.
If Vanitas run, he could find help,staying had created only status quo,. Yes, it is very possibile his research for help could fail or he could die, but is better one chance of freedom than a life of prisoner.I don’t hate Vanitas!
I think he did what he thought it was right, but I don’t think alive!n°70’d be so sympathetic.“
