I’ve seen some folks saying the trailer doesn’t look any better than the first movie, so before you parrot stuff like that please check out this video, cause the difference really is immense once you learn what to look for

So interesting!

Avatar: The Way of Water | Official Teaser Trailer

Synopsis

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive,  and the tragedies they endure.

Heard someone say in a podcast this morning that the trailer of Avatar 2 The Way of Water’s didn’t make much impact on him despite being a fan because, when Avatar came out more than a decade ago, it was incredible for its time, unique, with actual 3D filming and VFX and stunning CGI and breathtaking scenery, but now, it has become the standard production that Disney serves us every year with Marvel movies, and we’ve become used to it, even something as crushing as a high budget CGI movie doesn’t stand out anymore, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since

I have to ask what this means though. Have you thought of how many MCU big budget films looks copy and pasted with forgettable music, forgettable interpretations of characters and the same 5 actors passed around ?

If you’re an MCU fan you may find this sacrilegious of me to say, but I’m not coming from an inherent place of bias. I’ve seen almost all those movies because unfortunately I love comics and cartoons. But many of them are really fucking bland and make me wanna go to sleep and it’s obvious how they’ve been thrown into a blender of corporate meddling to make you go WOW! and then it’s the same old shit.

Nah, Avatar isn’t like that. Avatar has creativity in its designs, it’s characters and for what it’s worth it has FUCKING COLOR. It’s still beautiful and 100 times better looking than any Grey ass blob MCU shits out for the millionth time. It’s not perfect and there’s a lot of problematic issues that should be criticized, but to say it has ZeRo CulUtuRaL impact…?

It got you talking, didn’t it ? You listened to others talking about it, didn’t you? You took the time to think of those words and write them here, did you not?

It’s trending #1 on YT with over 10 million views and over 16 million on Twitter.

So. Someone is watching it. Someone cares. Someone is looking at the impact.

Maybe think about that.

Oh I actually agree with you.

Marvel MCU really is dull and also has no idea what intense black is (seriously, they keep making shades of dusty grey instead)

The return of the Avatar franchise is huge because we have been waiting a long time for it, and the impact the trailer has is undeniable.

What I’ve been meaning to say in my post above, is that a podcast host said that he’s not surprised by CGI anymore. When Avatar 1 came out, it was unique in its genre, and was groundbreaking. Now, it has become regular.

And I agree with him.

No need to be rude!

Also I’m certainly exaggerating things but is it just me or does it just look like… An animated movie?

We know for a fact that most of it is CGI. High-quality CGI, 4K rendering, etc. Every shot that was made filming actual actors could absolutely be 100% CGI. They have the money. It would even allow it to look better and in harmony with the rest of the movie.

Look at this scene in the trailer.

The tanks? So blurry it looks CG. The spider-robot in the foreground on the right? Definitely CG. The blue Na'vis? Obviously CG. The exo-skeleton thing around the actor? Yeahhh, maybe they got the budget to actually make one, but it’s surely cleaned up with CG for fluidity. The rest of the structure and area? 100% green screen.

And now it makes you wonder. Is the guy walking on the foreground real? Are the dudes on the left real? They could not be, they’re out of focus…

at this point anything could be animation.

Do you despise animation??

Au contraire, I freaking love it.

Now the question is, will Cameron ever dare to say that his franchise is not the 3D blast innovation it used to be but rather a mostly animated movie?

‘Avatar 2: The Way Of The Water’ Will Be Released In Theatre’s In The US on 16th Of December 2022.

So, the trailer for Avatar 2 is out, and as a guy in the Indonesian animation industry, I have to say it blows the original outta the water (ha!), and that’s a hard feat to do.

This shot alone is a fantastic money shot. That is some insane lighting, rendering and texturing all rolled into one.

I wanted something more like this in the original. It’s the kind of visuals that make me go: Now THAT’S an alien world!

Also sea critters! Flying Alien crocodile will definitely the reason I’m watching the movie.
