I’ll be at Alchemy & Ashes on Saturday teaching my next class! This class will be recorded and available online and in person. @alchemy_and_ashes for tickets!

This class will be recorded and available online and in person.

The untamable and dangerous wilderness has long been associated with malevolent forces. Dark forests, marshy wastelands and other places that humans tend to avoid have a threatening aura, and have been said to be inhabited by ghosts and monsters of all sorts.

The Devil is said to lurk between the rows of corn, inside the roots of the elder tree and throughout the haunted wilderness there are plants that bear His name. In this class we will explore, the Devil’s Acre, the plot of land set aside for the Old One, how you can create your own at home and the benefits to maintaining this space.

We will discuss the plants of the Devil’s Garden, those named for Old Nick or said to contain his spirit. Plants like devil’s eye, devil’s bit and devil’s walking stick all have a unique story to tell.

Considering the Devil’s Garden as a category of plants that share this quality in common shows us how we can rework these adversarial qualities into exercises of personal power. (at Alchemy & Ashes)
