Lyco-perdon = wolf farts
These fungi emit small clouds of spores when they are mature creating little plooms in the air around them. Most puffball mushrooms are edible when you, but slightly resemble young amanitas some of which are toxic. There are some varieties in Mexico and North America reported to have psychoactive effects, or a ritual important to the Blackfeet and Cherokee among others. A number of puffballs have been studied for their psychoactive effects with no trace of any psychoactive components. It is believed that the dream-inducing and visionary effects of some of these mushrooms is attributed to a more subtle mechanism. *please do not eat puffballs or any other unidentified mushrooms*

This weekend is the Poison Path 101 Class Live on Zoom. Sign up via link in bio. This course is intended to provide a basic foundation for people interested in beginning their exploration of the Poison Path. Nothing screams witchcraft more than a seething brew of poisonous plants. They are mysterious, seductive and in many cases psychoactive, but also potentially deadly. So why work with poisonous plants at all?
In this one hour crash course, author and herbalist Coby Michael, will be explaining the what, why and how of the Poison Path. Attendees will learn all of the most frequently used terminology, which draws from various academic sources. The correct vocabulary will aid immensely in one’s own studies and students can expect to be able to define terms like; entheogen, phyto-gnosis, pharmacognosy, ethnobotany, and alkaloid. In addition to defining these key concepts we will look at how they come to play in the Poison Path.
One of the most fascinating things about the Poison Path is the plants! These are some of the most interesting, terrifying and magical plants you will ever meet, and we will be looking at some of the most infamous. Students will learn what the plant’s physical characteristics, how they have been used historically and what their effects are.

Finally we will look at how this is all put into practice, and discuss some of the different options for working with poisonous plants, and where to get started. Students will be introduced to some of the basic preparations that can be made with these plants. An ointment of spirit flight, underworld descent, sabbatic revelry and oneiric journeying. This is one of my traditional witches’ flying ointment recipes. It is a powerful blend of nightshades and essential oils that work in synergy to enhance trance states and promote visionary experiences within a ritual setting.
This is a dark and chthonic unguent for meeting the shades of the dead, spirits that dwell inside the earth and deities associated with witchcraft and sorcery. It is the vehicle a witch would use to go to a lonely wild place in spirit and enter in to a pact with the green Devil.
Contains: Atropa belladonna and henbane herb, olive oil, carnauba wax, mugwort, clary sage and spikenard essential oils
What to expect: You may experience sensations of cold, tingling or movement, especially at the application site. Slight visual disturbances are possible and are enhanced by darkness and candlelight. Sparks or flashes of light may appear in the darkness. Lucid dream/waking states where dreams bleed into waking consciousness

The Devil is said to lurk between the rows of corn, inside the roots of the elder tree and throughout the haunted wilderness there are plants that bear His name. In this class we will explore, the Devil’s Acre, the plot of land set aside for the Old One, how you can create your own at home and the benefits to maintaining this space.
We will discuss the plants of the Devil’s Garden, those named for Old Nick or said to contain his spirit. Plants like devil’s eye, devil’s bit and devil’s walking stick all have a unique story to tell.

A new drawing based on my spiritual plant journeys with Monkshood and it’s aqueous associations. Nearly every time I connect with this plant spirit it brings with it the element of water. This water is always moving, and most often rushing past me in cool, refreshing currents. I grew up in a rural area where, as a youth, I spent many hot days playing in the nearby “crick.” When Monkshood brings its rushing water to me, the rippling embrace of the swift current feels nostalgic and cleansing all at once. I marvel at the idea that this plant ally helps me shed, feel lighter, and feel inspired to move towards the future by taking me back to those intimate moments with nature in the past.
