Bark River Trakker, A2 tool steel. The Tracker design was initially conceived by Tom Brown Jr, and refined by knifemaker Dave Beck. Several other makers have tackled the design, with varying degrees of success. TOPS Knives released a Tracker shortly after the Tommy Lee Jones/Benecio del Torro movie “The Hunted” popularized the design, which was little more than a sharpened crowbar, with grinds so obtuse, large regrinds are needed to make it usable. Eventually, Bark River released a prototype version, then a slightly larger production variant. A large sweeping blade for chopping wood and scraping hides, a quarter round for stripping bark and notching, a shallower grind to use as a draw knife. An excellent design for bushcraft, general chores, self-defense, whatever you need.
