WHERE THE F*** DID SPRINGLES COME FROM!? they’re still my OTP but still i dont get it Someone explain please

Springles is a ship that not many people think too hardly about outside of “IT’S ADORABLE, I SHIP IT.” The origin goes back a little over a year ago to when it was just a baby ship. You could count all the shippers on two hands and I for one just shipped it because they were derps and they brought sunshine to the darkness that was the show… But the popularity of the ship is thanks to two askblogs.

I’m talking about bestspudz and actual-hungry-soldier. Though, you may notice one of these blogs is now not there(and someone unknown stole the url), all of their work is still archived on Hungry’s blog.

It started with this post; a simple response by Hungry that became their first interaction on their blogs. They were friends. New friends that hit it off and had a passion for the silly ship they just happened to cosplay half of. With the hilarious,cute, and sometimes heartbreaking interactions that followed, people began to ship it.

Things were good. Their follower count exploded seemingly overnight. Some anons got creepy and they turned off anonymous asks for a while, but they still remained close and positive with a healthy dose of flirting both inside and outside of character. We all became curious if there was something else there…. Though it was never revealed publicly.

The moment most people got on board the ship was likely the Omegle interaction… from time to time, bestspudz would host omegle events where their followers could find them on the site and chat for a bit. They were always entertaining and much fangirling ensued. The day both of them did it, it was different. It was obvious they were looking for each other, and after hours they finally did…. Bringing us this conversation.

Hungry threw Spudz a birthday surprise online, and there was a huge response with lots of Springles. They met up soon after. I don’t have a comment for that, it’s just cute.

Their presence in the fandom only lasted the season. Their posts were coming slower and weren’t as big as before. Something was happening behind the scenes that wasn’t coming out, and still hasn’t quite been revealed. But the “damage” was done. The Springles flame was sparked in the fandom. Many of the jokes associated with the pair stretch back to these two, and while bestspudz is gone for reasons unknown, their legacy will live on. They gave us something special, and they are missed…

And THAT is where the f*** Springles came from!

I created this blog 5 months ago with no goal in mind, then something amazing happened in the weeks after starting this blog…. But now, for reasons I’d rather not get into, I’m closing this blog. I’ll keep it active as an archive for my posts, but I will no longer be making any new posts unless something changes. If you want to keep up with me, go to my main blog PokemonMasterKimba.

I’ll continue to cosplay Sasha and my love for Springles is still strong, but it’s too painful to keep up with this blog right now… maybe I’ll come back some day when things are better, but I don’t know how far off that will be…. I’m so sorry…
