#bjd faceup

LIVE

This grumpy looking Doll Leaves Evan finally arrived to me after almost 8 months. I painted him pretty quick, and then in less than 24 hours I scratched the faceup in multiple places. Instead of redoing it, I just… added scars over the spots which actually works with the character.

Also he has ears for daaaaays, they are as long as my fingers!

Finally finished this faceup and body blush too on a Doll Leaves Ida with the 43cm Dream Girl V2 body in normal skin.

I repainted my Dollzone Daomiao-2 girl, again; this is her 5th faceup, but her best yet I feel. I was rather unhappy with her last one so I was more than glad to wipe it. This time she actually looks like a kid!

Another recently completed commission, this time on a Volks Saki in pure skin normal. She came with a faceup and she was horribly dirty inside. So I cleaned her up inside and out, and repainted her. Quite the glow up!

The finished up Dollzone Venus Halo commission with her body and fantasy parts blushed. Painting a teeny tiny barcode and numbers on the arm were a challenge.

Smart Doll Chaos Envisage head in cinnamon.

This head got to be my most extensive mod/re-sculpting project so far. Mod was done with apoxie sculpt and milliput.
Based on Corpse Husband, and the pink eye glows in the dark!

Gloooooow!

The applied eyelashes were giving me a lot of trouble on this Withdoll Ash’s faceup, but I won anyway. The first time I glued them, they popped out and took the eyeliner with them when I tried putting the eyes in.

So I had to remove them, redo the eyeliner, reseal, regloss, and reapply the eyelashes. This time they stayed.

My own Dollzone Mann in peach skin. Poor thing chipped her faceup horribly while trying to learn to fly (aka falling off the doll dresser due to rambunctious toddlers), so I redid her. She even has suffered a broken ear, which I had to superglue back together.

This little cutie is a Fairyland Pukifee Cupid in tan skin. She’s ready to go home!

Such a handsome lad

The old body on the right looks cute in comparison!
Before and After

My oldest doll, Dragondoll Cheng from 2009, got a body upgrade from his default 72cm V1 Uncle body to an IoS Class80 body. This head predates the merger of Telesthesia and Dragon Doll.

Even though both are white skin, Mort has turned the shade of butter over the last 12 years, so I had to color match him.

I’m glad I decided to give him scales along the sides of his face. And for the first time since I wiped his default faceup in 2012 he has eyelashes again. He also needed stronger eyebrows.

I did finally order him some pants off Etsy, in ID75 size, as the measurements look pretty close. Poor Mort is still wearing a shawl as a skirt. At least he’s rocking it!

This head (MoDoll Hide Matsumoto) was a special challenge for me, as the person he is based on passed away in the 1990’s and the head is white skin. Making the head look alive while still being white skin was difficult, but it worked!

The ears are from Custom Made Dolls and are the fox ears. It’s been a hot minute since I painted fantasy ears.

This one is a commission. I still need to finish her body and fantasy parts blushing, and then I will post that too.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted here again… Anyway, here we have an Iplehouse JID Benny in special real skin, for whom I also blushed the body, did a manicure, and a pedicure on both flat and heel feet.

This Sugarble Darlene in normal skin has my first faceup in a decora style. The owner was present as I was working on her, and she helped me bully the glitter into the right spots with a thin layer of PVA glue.

Decora isn’t a style I normally do as I do not really follow it. But I do like how this faceup turned out!

Her previous faceup was a bit worn, and kind of plain in comparison to how colorful this character actually is.

Have a video to really appreciate the glitter freckles.

Here we have a very vibrant Faewoods Doll Orchidaceae in mint resin. She was such a fun challenge to work on before of her coloring. I didn’t want to mute it too much, and she just needed blue and purple freckles.

Both I and the owner are happy with how she turned out!

Today we have an Immortality of Soul Jaguar (old sculpt, not the renewal one) with a refreshed faceup. His owner wanted a new faceup for him as the old one was color matched to a different resin color and they’d gotten him an IOS body in white, which of course is pink toned.

I had a lot of fun with his strong brows, piercings, and defined eyes. I also gave him some (non permanent) earrings to complete his look. Sadly in shipping the spiked studs came off. Darn customs!

I mentioned having to redo my Lost Chronicles Allurial as she switched characters on me within a few days of being painted. So here she is again, this time with golden scales, piercings, and ready to kick butt.

She is white skin, but color matched to DF-H normal yellow.

Have a video to show just how gorgeous and shiny the gold paint is unglossed through the MSC.

Another faceup for myself on my Dollzone April, though I am not habbe with my blush or linework here.

I will eventually redo her again, but for now the faceup can stay. Last time I didn’t like her lips and before that I didn’t like her nose blushing. I will get her faceup nailed down one of these days!

I never get tired of painting Flower & Junior Mizi.W, the head is just such a fun canvas! This one has lots of shiny paint splatter spots, white freckles, and a bit on an ombre lip look.

I made the eyes too (paper and acrylic bases), as the owner had sent her with brown eyes but she needed gold ones.

This Fantasy Doll Amber was normal skin once upon a time. She was an impulse buy and after I never did anything with her, I had decided to sell her to a friend. They wanted me to dye her tan, so I did. It was an interesting experience for sure! Afterwards I gave her a faceup and made her some dragon eyes.
