“Almost 1.5 years ago I met a woman, Britney Brown. One who helped change the trajectory of my life. I wasn’t looking to be partnered, but she showed up anyway. Yesterday, as I was doing yoga, I realized I still have MUCH healing to do.

Congratulations to Djay OmG and Mmorenasa who got engaged on Valentine’s Day! Djay says she met Mmorenasa three years ago at a Halloween event. They are both from New York and after a year of dating, Mmorenasa relocated to Texas for more opportunity.

“We tried a long distance relationship for a year and we decided that we missed each other wayyy toom much,” Djay said. “So I relocated to Texas to be with my love and the moment we got together physically I knew I didn’t EVER want to be apart like that again! This Valentine’ss was our first Valentine’s Day in Texas. we did a lot of fun activities, but I ended the night at the Love Lock Bridge in downtown Houston where I got down on one knee ready to lock in our love forever!”

Let’s face facts, most #blacklesbians don’t respect uhaul relationships (even though many of us have had at least one uhaul experience). The respect is not often there because most of those relationships crash and burn.

One of our 1st get aways was to Chicago to celebrate Obama’s announcement of his presidential run. Over the years we have both changed so much and yet our love remains constant. Leslie and Lervene first met five years ago on Facebook. But they were in relationships and in separate countries. The femme beauties re-connected in 2018 when both were single and emotionally avaible. It didn’t take long for them to realize that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together.

Let’s be real #blacklesbians–there is a LOT of MISEDUCATION about SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES in our community. We need to better education about HIV and other diseases and how they affect women who have sex with women. We invited an HIV/STI outreach specialist and an HIV counselor from Detroit to have this serious conversation with the women in our private community.
Some of the questions we will be covering will be can women give other women HIV? Can diseases be transferred from sex toys? What’s the proper way to clean your sex toys?
