I’ve often found myself wanting to control certain aspects of my life, hoping that somehow, some way, doing so would keep me from experiencing bad things, painful things. But in actuality, through trying to control things, I’ve made so many things in my life much worse. I’ve also made it harder for myself to just live life and be happy. So this video is in response to that. It is to help people realize that control is something you need to let go of in order to live a happier life. Thank you for watching. As always, I love you.

A gossip blog wrote about my relationship with Kristina and the comments showed surprise that I would date an unambiguous black woman. The comments disparaged some of her black features. This is unacceptable and I want to be clear:
Looking “mixed” is not a compliment. She and all black women are beautiful not in spite of but because of their blackness.
Kinky, curly hair goes beyond simple aesthetics and is indicative of a confidence and spirit that will not yield. Natural hair is beauty and it is courage.
Failing the paper bag test does not make you more or less deserving of love; rather, it demonstrates that your beauty is an act of civil disobedience; those without it consider it a threat.”
