Following on from @vixypixyrae’s vintage vision for our event with @blindpigcider, we had to find the right person to provide that modern twist. It was a great honour to introduce award-winning Glasgow School of Art graduate @kellydawnriot.
Taking inspiration from naturalist illustrators and forward thinking icons of times gone by, KellyDawn Riot’s brand embodies a unique aesthetic that invokes a sense of the ephemeral and wonder through hand crafted illustrations and paintings. The aim is to create pieces of wearable art that will continue to inspire: crawling with details and minutiae that will never cease to amaze. Pieces are made using remnants from local Scottish mills or natural fabrics such as cottons and linens, making them strong and durable, while the Eco friendly printing techniques and the attention to detail ensure that each piece is a treasure: inspired by nature, designed for life. And she’s pretty much the nicest, kindest person you could meet. Go see:

In the @biscuitfactoryed, we found the perfect space for our evening of Vintage with a Modern Twist with @blindpigcider. A blank canvas, rich in character and history, and a magnet for curious creatives. There was only one person who could fill and transform the industrial backdrop with that vintage vibe, elevating the event with her vision… her name is @vixypixyrae. The new Creative Director of @stewartchristie_co, the oldest bespoke tailors in Scotland, had three centuries of archives to dip in to, all enriched by her limitless imagination.
