522 - Blitzle

Blitzle, from Pokemon!
Gao goes dancing at a club. Short little fic-let that came after I did the final evo pic series, to show that as a young adult, Gao was rather outgoing and promiscuous.
Nimbasa City, the glittering city just north of the port metropolis, Castellia City in the Unova region. The city was known for its flashy musicals, amusement parks, clubs, sports stadiums. If Castellia was the business center, Nimbasa was the tourist center. That weekend was the Unova inter-regional super battle tournament, where an academy battle group from Hoenn was attending. The trio of a marshtomp, poochyena, and electrike were career battlers, having competed since they were rookies.
They had made it through the qualifying rounds that friday, and were set to qualify for the Saturday matches, but an unlucky match up had cost them their qualifying spot the next day. It wasn’t unexpected, the super battle rank was a much larger competition pool from multiple regions, and the skill range was much greater. It didn’t sting any less when the defeat came, which led to some deflated spirits in the academy room the team was staying at.
The electrike was preoccupied with studying the match he had just lost against a servine on his tablet on the bed. The poochyena walked out of the bathroom, drying out his ears, finished with his shower. The marshtomp was busy slicking his head fin with cream in the mirror.
“Why’re you getting all dress up for Gao?” the poochyena asked, noticing the marshtomp had put on his flashy dress up shirt and shorts, “It’s kinda late isn’t it?”
“Well, Pawl, since we’re not in the tournament anymore,” Gao said adjusting his shirt in the mirror, “that means I don’t need to wake up early tomorrow.” Gao turned to Pawl with a grin, “And that means I’m heading out to experience the famous Nimbasa night life. I hear there’s a street that’s nothing but dance clubs and bars, and a lot of crazy stuff is said to happen there, and that sounds like fun to me.”
“Huh,” the poochyena said, “well, have fun and try not to get in trouble.” The poochyena walked away and sat down on his bed, looking over the electrike’s shoulder at his tablet.
“What? You don’t want to come with? It’s not every day we get to come to Nimbasa City,” Gao replied.
“The matches start early tomorrow and I want to see them,” Pawl replied, “I’ll go out tomorrow, the finals don’t start till later on Sunday anyway.”
“How about you Jolt?” Gao asked the electrike.
“Man I could’ve hit him with a flame burst there…yeah, wide open for that counter-attack,” Jolt mumbled to himself, engrossed in his analysis and ignoring Gao altogether.
“Well fine, you both brood over your losses,” Gao said defiantly, “I, on the other hand, will move on and enjoy the rest of my time here in Nimbasa to the fullest.” Gao walked out of the room with his head turned high.
Pawl smirked. He knew going out partying was Gao’s coping mechanism after losing a tournament. It was also his way of celebrating after winning one, so he knew he didn’t need to worry about Gao. He was more interested in analyzing his own match he lost against a scraggy, “Hey Jolt, pull my battle up, I wanna see too.”

Making his way downtown, walkin’ fast, faces pass, Gao has arrives in the bustling party street, lined with dance clubs and bars. Crowded with Pokemon, all in a familiar state of celebration and festivity. Colored lights flashed from signs, a low thumping of bass was pulsating from the buildings, Gao looked on in awe as he made his first steps into the chaos. He spotted the club with the neon lights and pokemon going in and out of the open doors, and chose that one to start his night.
It was a dance club, with colored rave lights, pokemon handing out glow stick bands, and an emolga dj on stage above the large dance floor. Gao went out on the dance floor right away, joining the crowd of pokemon already in moving along to the music. Being in close proximity with all the other pokemon on the dance floor was making Gao warm up, which seemed like a good enough time to take his shirt off.
Underneath his shirt, however, was a fishnet crop top. Something he’d been wanting to sport for a while now. Not really into the style, but he’d hoped that it would attract someone else in the room. He’d hoped that it would help him stand out, though, in this city, everyone seemed to stand out in some way.
Though, his ploy may have worked, as he caught the gaze of a blitzle also on the dance floor. With a bit of non-verbal communication, Gao beckoned him over so the two could dance closer with each other. What caught Gao’s eye on the bliztle as he got closer, was that the white outfit he was wearing made his glowing stripes visible from underneath them. He could even barely make out the electric blue undies that were underneath those shorts.
The two danced together on the dance floor until the dj finished his set. The two pokemon went off to the side of the room to finally converse a bit. "Haven’t seen you around here before,“ the blitzle said, "you new in town?”
“Here for the tournament,” Gao strained to reply over the music, “got knocked out, making the most of it.”
“You and me both!” the blitzle, “I’m Eli.”
“Gao,” he said pointing to himself.
“I like your shirt,” Eli said with a flirtatious grin, “shows off that nice chest you’ve got.”
Gao grinned back, “Thanks, I like your trunks,” he said nodding downward, “I could make them out in the right light.”
Eli grinned smugly, “Would you like a better look at them? We could go to a quieter place, it’s not too far from here…”
“Lead the way,” Gao answered eagerly. Gao grabbed his shirt and followed the blitzle out of the club and into the night.
