Double Or Nothing

GSD Industries is my Grandfather’s company. He still running the company and my father right there by his side. After college I’ll be joining them.

What the company does I don’t know exactly cuz they haven’t told me. When it comes time they’ll explain it all to me. I know they do medical research and human development. Whatever that is. It’s just as men now Grandma passed away years ago. My mother died in a car crash. All I know is there’s a lot of unseen Security on the place and I have to call ahead if I’m going to be stopping by.

My name is Eric Danvers, I go to the University not too far away. So I can see my family all the time.

Some weird things have been happening to me where am I out or on campus. One time two guys tried to grab me and toss me in their van. This college student comes out of nowhere and he saves me. I don’t know why it happened and who this guy was, but he was good at self-defense.

Then two different guys came to the frat house come looking for me. Fortunately i wasn’t there and I was actually with my grandfather. He called me and said these two goons bust down the door and started tearing up the Frat screaming where was I at. They told him he was visiting his grandfather and they took off.

Few days later I was summoned to my grandfather’s office. Walking down the hall in front of me was that college guy who saved me from the time 2 guys tried to grab me.

That’s when I found out he was my personal bodyguard. His name is David and my grandfather’s company trained him to protect me.

I found out there were other kidnapping attempts on my life. That’s when they hired David as my bodyguard and train him to protect me. Explains why this guy David just showed up in all my classes at school and pretty much anywhere I went.

That’s when my grandfather and father decided the tell me my grandpa’s company actually did. GSD Industries. Governmental Spy Development Industries. And I was thinking the D stood for Danvers our last name.

They actually do work for the government in developing special projects and special contracts.

My grandfather looked at me and said. This part does not leave the room. You are sworn to keep everything you’re about to hear and see as a secret, you cannot tell anyone and you cannot speak of it outside the building.

Grandfather’s companies develop the way to teach you certain things without you actually having to sit through courses or training lessons.

My Bodyguard is a example of that. David’s Superior martial arts skills we’re programmed into him electronically through his brain and into his muscular system. Within a few hours he was a professional blacked belt. Besides other bodyguard training.

I found out that they do this with government special agents or you could call them spies. Besides giving them the knowledge and abilities are able to transform the agent into a perfect copy of the person they are replacing or impersonating. Like they say in Spy Movies. This man is an imposter. But they have it down to an art form.

My mother’s death was no accident. And all the Unexplained attempts on my life are foreigner agents trying to kidnap me. So my grandfather would give them information on who’s spying in their country and help them spy on ours.

That’s why my body guard was sitting in the room next to me. Too many close calls we have to make it the next step. They were going to make David my body double. He’ll be a perfect copy of me from head to toe right down to my voice and mannerisms. He be given all the needed knowledge of me so if he has to pose for me and step into my place to be able to pull it off.

I was taking down the hall I was stripped of my suit until I was naked. They did a complete body scan my body from the outside and took samples. They put a device around my throat. And wrap this ring around my head.

Partition wall open, David was laying on the other table also naked and wired up. I felt impulses coming in and out of my head I was asked to read passages so they can get the full range of my voice.

They released me from the room and let me get dressed again and took me way to my grandfather’s office.

By the end of the day two of the men from the lab returned and said it was successful.

My grandfather took me out to dinner to explain that they turned David into my body double in every way he will be me from head to toe but he also had his martial arts training and he wasn’t his grandson.

He told me to be safe while I’m on campus until they get another college student programmed to be my bodyguard.

Few days later my grandfather had me return to his office for the big unveiling.

When I entered into my grandfather’s private office, there he stood my exact double a perfect copy of me. Matter of fact he’s wearing my suit shirt and tie along with my best pairs of shoes.

Watching him, checking himself out as me.

I couldn’t get over how he looked it was like looking in a mirror my suit fit in perfectly and that was tailor-made to my body. Introduced himself as Eric Danvers in my voice. He had my manners, my characteristics and my habits down perfect.

My grandfather told me to take my clothes off and give them to him, He would give me back my suit to wear and they would go out to dinner and he would take my place on campus.

My grandfather said to me over dinner, it’s just a test run. He’s got me day to day you down perfectly. He would pose as me on campus for the next few days and see how people respond if at all.

When he returns will hook you up to the machine again and you’ll learn how your week went through by feeding information from his mind to yours as if you were there the whole time just so you are up-to-date.

This’ll be a common practice every few days for both advice to keep update on my current situation and knowledge.

The only big role is we cannot be in the same place at the same time. I’ll be living at my grandfather’s penthouse for the week.

I was allowed to return back to school after about a week and he would be living at my grandfather’s penthouse. Not as a prisoner but as a guest, He also carries an emergency beeper with a tracking device so I can be located at any time. Just in case something happens to me or his assistance is needed.

They were a few attempts on my life fortunately they would be grabbing The Bodyguard, my double instead of me and he was able to protect himself. I don’t know how my grandfather knew maybe his spies on that side informing him when things were going to get rough.

David my body double and I became very close since he know every Secret of My Life almost. You understand I said the word almost he wasn’t given every memory every thought everything that made me, me just enough to make him me.

And David was loving living in my grandfather’s penthouse as if he was me.

During one of our update sessions my body got fully measured in scanned and so is his and his was updated to match mine.

Just think of it as I go to the gym to add muscle and work on my abs and he gets it a push of a button. It was weird having a identical twin that I couldn’t tell anybody about.

A few times David and I would get together at my grandfather’s condo and we’d swap places for the day just so he could get out and see the world and walk around campus.

It’s kind of cool cuz he could take test that I didn’t want to take or hang out with people I really didn’t like.

One day during an update session David heard the technician say that they almost flipped the wrong switch and i would give David my whole life. The swap would give me his.

My grandfather got information that my life was in danger again and no double would be any help. So he sent us to his remote vacation Cabin in the Woods Just the Two of Us

David somehow is able to bring along an update device. He says he always has a headache afterwards so we like to do it now so you can relax and sleep off the pain.

What I didn’t know is David made himself perfect copy of me. All my memories of my entire life. He also had some very private information like past codes and pin numbers. He’s the perfect copy of me from head to toe.

My grandfather had him leave dressed as me when leaving the cabin. I was taken out matching as one of the security detail in the van.

Little did I know David was taking a strong liking to my life as his own. Not that of My Bodyguard.

A few weeks pasted.

I was getting ready for my grandfather’s birthday celebration he was having at the local Resort. I just finished putting on my tuxedo and my security detail showed up. I was surprised to find David was my security detail.

He was checking me out of my tuxedo from head to toe as he stood and a black T-shirt black technical pants and boots and a black cap on his head.

Hey Eric, you got some lint all over your back I’ll get it. THe next thing I know I’m being pierced in the neck with an injection and down I went.

He didn’t take me to the van, but to my car and he put me in the back seat and covered me up out of view. Also I can not see where he’s going.

HE turn right and was on a gravel road and stopped at a gate. He hopped out and opened it.

I could hear a garage door open and him drive in

He parked the car the engine stopped and he got out. He pulled the cover off of me and pulled me out of the car. He said,this was all the tests. Grandfather’s is running this. The biggest one of all. And my grandfather would never know about it.

He stripped me of my tuxedo tell I was stripped down to my underwear.

He looked at me and says we are alike were both wearing the same underwear today that’ll save time. HE handcuff my hands in front of me and push me to the ground.

He grabbed my tuxedo shoes in socks and disappeared when he returned he was dressed from head to toe as me. All cleaned up and ready to go to my grandfather’s birthday party.

He looked at me and says I can’t leave you like this. Grab some dirty clothes out of a gym bag and tossed them at me. Coming to get dressed after he remove the handcuffs.

The next part, he put the update device on my head and I’m his and turn the machine on.

This will be the major update he goes. I’ll know everything you know up to date. Your grandfather will think I’m you for sure. He looked at my Rolex watch on his wrist and said . Look at the time I have to take care of this later and tied me up.

He hopped in my car and drove off leaving me there in the dark in the middle of nowhere. Bond and gagged.

He returned the next morning. Hey man you missed a great party, dad got drunk and Grandpa man, he is sweet guy.

He could not tell me from you.

and soon you will be me.

He put the update system on his head and came over and put it on mine.

You’ll be The Bodyguard from this point on it’s some key points have been erased. And turned on the machine, my whole life just drained from my head replaced with his memories thoughts and knowledge.

When I came to I was in an empty building. I was David. David’s car was right there I was wearing David’s clothes so I must be David.

Not knowing the real David it planted a fake story in his head that he was in a fight to rescue me Eric Danvers. He got beaten up pretty good he doesn’t even really remember the fight that well he must have really got hit hard.

I drove up his school campus and there Eric Danvers standing outside the door. Oh yeah it’s Tuesday lunch with grandfather.
