Last book I…
Thanks to @storytime-reviews for the group tag.
Bought:Devotionby Hannah Kent, and Beyond the end of the world(The other side of the sky #2) by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner
Borrowed:Romantic outlaws: The extraordinary lives of Mary Wollstonecraft & Mary Shelley by Charlotte Gordon from the library. I originally wasn’t going to borrow anything, but I saw this one on the shelves and I just HAD to read it.
Gifted:The long way to a small, angry planet (Wayfarers #1) by Becky Chambers
Gave to someone else: I think it was The Lake House by Kate Morton
Started:The understudy by Julie Bennett, and A far wilder magic by Allison Saft
Finished:The secret of laughter: magical tales from classical Persia by Shusha Guppy
Gave 5 stars: A psalm for the wild-built (Monk and robot #1) by Becky Chambers
Gave 2 stars: I tend not to rate books that low, if I’m not enjoying a book I normally DNF it. The closest rating to 2 I gave was The winter duke by Claire Eliza Bartlett, which I read last year and rated 2.5. Not even really sure why I finished it in the end, I guess I didn’t want to let it beat me.
Didn’t finish: A universe of sufficient size by Miriam Sved (this had promising elements but I hated one of the POV characters), and Pemulwuy: the rainbow warrior by Eric Wilmott. I was quite sad to DNF that one because of its subject matter, but I was in a bad reading slump and needed to start afresh.
Anyone else who wants to do this and hasn’t, feel free to take this as your invitation!
