what contemporaries have you loved this year? It’s time for some much needed contemporary appreciation because let’s face it; bookstagram loves on fantasy way more I’ve read 67 contemporaries this year and here are a few I’m obsessed with! ❤️ THE HENNA WARS — incredible sister love. Bangladeshi and Muslim rep. Sapphic!! I loved this so much. FELIX EVER AFTER — the best!!! Raw and unapologetic artists and trans rep and best chaos love triangle. BE DAZZLED — it’s out in 2021! Anxious cosplay queer crafters and it’s amazing. LOVELESS — the aro/ace book my heart needed. And of course HEARTSTOPPER is a wholesome soft and angsty gift. THIS IS MY BRAIN IN LOVE — messy and realistic anxiety/depression discussions, and Taiwanese and Nigerian immigrant rep. And so much FOOD OMG. ONLY MOSTLY DEVASTATED — queer Grease retelling and it made me bust out laughing but also cry. PLEASE DON’T HUG ME — autism appreciation this book gets it. Accurate, emotional, and powerful. ❤️ BOYFRIEND MATERIAL — so funny; the flirty one falls for the uptight one trope . THE FOXHOLE COURT — a reread but I love these damaged disaster queer jocks with their stickball and their mafia. Have you read any of these? #contemporaryYA #bookstagram #bookwormlife #bookstagram #epicreads #weneeddiversebooks #ireadya #yalit #yabooks #bookphotography #bookish #bookrainbow https://www.instagram.com/p/CI27KodHEcv/?igshid=1dy4ppxqbpbam

Starting this one. It’s been all over my feed so I am hoping it is good!

I’ve been crying for the last I don’t know how many chapters. That’s it. That’s the review.

I’m reading too many books at the same time and it’s becoming a problem because I haven’t been able to finish neither of them.

Does this happen to any of you?

Oh my gods. It’s huge. I know it’s a bad idea to start this book now because I won’t be able to stop… but I need to know what’s going on.

Oh, I liked this book. I have to admit, I had my doubts at the beginning but the ending was very good. It kept me intrigued enough to want the second book. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them.

Trying to read the day away… again.

IT IS DONE!! I finally finished it and it took me some time to do it but I did it. I like stories that are related to Greek Mythology and this one did not disappoint… although, it was a bit slow for my taste.

I loved that we see Daphne go through all the tests to save the Gods from losing their powers and saving the people that she loves the most. She sacrificed a lot to help them and I understood her feelings, when at the end, they still expected more of her. But I loved her resilience and the way that she tackled every single test even though even though she was scared most of the time… or at the brink of death. She didn’t hide her emotions and I liked that.

This book is so good! I cried and laughed with the characters and I loved that we get to see both point of views. Honestly, it made me happy. It was the type of book I needed right now. ♥️

The Summer I Turned Pretty Book Review

Is romance in the air or is it just sea-salt?

Rating: 4,78

Age-Rating: 11+

Author: Jenny Han

Genre: YA contemporary Romance

Plot…

Belly has been going to her mom’s friend’s (Susannah’s) beach cottage for summer, her whole life, with Conrad and Jerimiah-  Susannah’s 2 sons- they are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer—they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer. Could this finally be the summer for love?

My Opinion…

This was one of my introduction books to YA romance, and I couldn’t have picked a better book! This book was so cute and fluffy and was filled with lots of twists. Jenny Han writes amazing books, and this is no exception.  This book has such an adorable storyline and I think this is an amazing book. (Be prepared that belly is a bit stuck up in THIS BOOK, but in the other books she isn’t.) It was such a suspenseful and adorable read with many twists and turns. But overall, it is a spectacular book and you should 110% try the trilogy.

You will like it if…

You will love this book if you are in a reading slump and/or looking to try YA romance. Or if you just looking for an adorable, fluffy romance read!

DISCLAIMER!*

If I didn’t like a book as much as you did please don’t be affended! We all have our own opinions and thoughts!

Plot (spoiler free)

Jackie is one of those people who thinks chaos is the worst thing ever, but when 4 surprises hits her in the face like a truck, she feels like her life will never restore itself.

Surprise 1: Jackie’s family diesin a tragic freak car accident

Surprise 2: Jackie must moveacross the country to live on a ranch with the Walters, her new guardians

Surprise 3: The Walters have 12 Children

Surprise 4: All 12 kids are boys (well 11, but Parker acts like a boy anyway)

Now Jackie Must trade her friends, home and New York City penthouse for a Colorado Ranch, and wild, loud, smelly, dirty, annoying boys with no personal space (even though some are flat-out gorgeous, but still flat-out annoying) All the name-calling and pranks better be worth keeping her families memories alive, and their dreams of who she could be. But could there be a chance for love?

My Opinion

This book was phenomenal and striking. To me this is the definition of aPage-Turner. With every page I turned the more attached I became to the book and its characters.Ali Novak is an outstanding Author (probably one of my favorites), but this is my favorite out of all her books. Ali Novak vividly describes every chapter; she makes you attached to characters and transported me to the world of Colorado. There were many moments when I couldn’t put this book down. I believe this book needs more hype than it already gets. This book was certainly unforgettableand make me feel happy, sad, angry, and excited at the same time. I wish there was a follow up off this book, Because the ending was a bit of a disappointment and I wish that there was more to the story!

You will like it if…

You will certainly enjoy this book if you love a cute, fluffy, contemporary romance with a bit of drama you must 100% try it out.
