Chichi doesn’t like to let me out of sight lately, and he keeps grooming/guarding/feeding me/bringing me presents, so I think he knows I’m still upset about the fire. Thanks so much to those who have reached out about the Marshall Fire destroying my parents and my home. They have a place to live now for a year or two, so I can start fielding in person donations of items for them soon. Unfortunately, I don’t qualify for much monetarily from disaster relief funds, and obviously can’t take physical donations until I leave Japan in the spring, so…I am not doing well. But Chichi wants me to be visible At All Times lately so he can cheer me up, that’s sweet.

Nico passed away peacefully in his sleep later that day, about 10:20pm, September 24th, 2021, aged about 9.5, exactly 2 weeks shy of the day we found each other at the pet store 9 years ago.
Feets not working, mommy is warm and soft
Nico abruptly started having leg weakness a week ago and yesterday, it increased to a possibly paralyzed foot. The vet said it was probably nerve damage from a small polyup that developed recently, and all we can do is give Nico pain meds and keep the cage comfy til the foot gets better or…doesn’t. Our beeb is two weeks shy of her ninth gotcha day, about 9.5 years old.
