Been re reading calamity jane fanfiction and omg it’s sooo good! Og fizzles fans will know what I’m talking about.
If you haven’t read it you must check it out. It’s probably the best fanfiction out there.

i’m sure someone probably commented on this post already but this is calamity jane, they eventually move into a tiny cabin together and sing a song about how “a woman’s touch” can fix anything. i watched this movie daily when i was about 7 and now i’m a dyke
my butch lesbian professor who is well into her sixties had told me that this was her first real exposure to the concept that a woman could not only be attracted to other women, but be butch while doing it. she said this movie propelled her into her sexuality with a sense of pride and remains a cornerstone of her coming-out journey. in short, representation matters and always has.

I loved this movie as a kid and sat down to watch it as an adult for the first time several months ago and had this incredible journey of “oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, they are SO lesbians! How could I not have seen that they are LESBIANS??? How did this ever get past the censors at the time?? But like good for them, man!” also the music is phenomenal.

Color version of my persona design for Sae Niijima, the lineart of which can be found here. I honestly did not realize how much green there was in Leviathan Sae’s design until I had to actually sit down and focus on it. It ended up being the dominating color in Calamity Jane. Also, you can kinda tell I gave up coloring around the sword and guns.
