I recently fell down the rabbit hole of “redesigning Star Trek’s Cardassians to look more like aliens and less like guys in makeup”, looked up to see how far down I was, and realized I liked what I’d made too much to let them be copyrighted space fascists.
These are some of the drawings I did before I got to that point.
here’s another new 5x7 inch collage! it’s glittery, it’s rainbow, and it’s got a smug garak on it… what more could you want?
it’s been sealed with thick gloss varnish. the panel it’s on is made of wood that’s been sanded, painted black, and varnished. it has a depth of ¾ of an inch so you don’t need to attach anything to the back or get it framed in order to hang it up!
(this actually sold before I got a chance to publish this draft so shout-out to whoever just bought this!)

He is reaching the age of thirty, with no wife and family to commit themselves to his cause, of reaching the status of Gul. His Commanding Gul has told him once he commits himself to a wife, the state may recognize his devotion. luckily theres a woman who is looking for a husband on Cardassia ii, maybe they could come to an arrangement….. but will they lose their hearts along the way

i was talking to my mom about cardassians and said something along the lines of ‘what must it be like to be a cardassian civilian. like abstractly knowing the rest of the galaxy thinks of your species as ‘the evil ones’ and kinda sorta knowing your government runs labor camps and torture prisons and is a military empire, and it’s a huge deal for everyone else in the galaxy, but you just like run a restaurant so it’s not a big part of your daily life, so you just like, go about your day and make soup and don’t think about it’ and then halfway through my sentence i actually heard myself and then had to go sit down for like ten minutes. like sat down in a chair and stared at the floor for ten minutes
Concept for special undergarments for Cardassians traveling off world. The fibers respond to the friction of regular movements, generating warmth for the wearer. It’s not a lot, but enough to keep the wearer comfortable as they go about their work.
