Finally! It’s done! And I’m very happy how it turned out, although I’ve to admit that putting a lot of small things in a pic is a lot of fun but colouring and shading is a chore
About Nelvinorr (dude on the left) and Velto (dude on the right):
Nel
he’s one of the oldest dragons in the Dragon Palace and the only Icedragon present in the region
he has a very high affinity for magic (more so than most dragons even)
he’s the only dragon able to transform into a nearly fully human form (without the ears and antlers)
he’s also the only one capable to infuse jewellery with the necessary spells for other dragons to appear fully human, although it’s a very tedious process
he’s not only a capable goldsmith but also able to forge powerful, magic-infused weapons, but he hates to do the later
some of his old swords are sought after weapons among the human kingdoms despite not being aware that Nel made them
he’s a very affectionate person but also easy to anger and tends to hold petty grudges
he likes vanilla-creme and baked apples as well as other sweets
in his dragon form he’s smaller than the other dragons and sports a thick fur as well as feathered wings and a set of deer-like antlers
although he’s an icedragon he isn’t bothered by heat or cold just like all other dragons, still he doesn’t like to get wet in his dragon-form as his fur will soak up a lot of water and become so heavy he can’t fly
Velto
he’s the first born son of Marwesovirr and Lascia
he once tried to raise an army by summoning a ton of shades to conquer some of the human kingdoms but grew out of it due to an accident with one of the shades, which nearly cost him his life, as well as Nelvinorrs intervention
he isn’t very keen on being reminded about the less than stellar ambitions of his youth
the shade also partly fused with him around his arms, which is why he needs to bandage them with seals to keep the shade from possessing him fully
this also made him an expert in the treatment of shade-related injuries
although he’s the so-called Prince of Dragons (a title he doesn’t care about) he isn’t expected to do much, still he takes care of a few administrative things in the Palace and likes to interact with the servants (listening to their problems and grievances in order to help them)
although he doesn’t show it much he cares very much of his remaining four sisters as many of his other siblings died due to being incredible reckless as all Dragonbloods tend to be in their youth (the first 500 years or so)
I haven’t been this happy with one of my pieces for quite some time ☺️

Anyway, as promised some info about them:
the girl’s name is Lascia and the guy’s called Marwesovirr
their court acts in sense like a fairy court but without the food-rule
About Lascia:
she’s the daughter of a god of fire and a normal human and thus able to not only control fire but also volcanos
her title is “Lady of Fire” although she doesn’t really care about titles
she has a sunny, very carefree, often mischievous disposition
her actions often appear random and childish at time but she has her reasons, which she, if at all, only shares with Marwesovirr
generally speaking she isn’t very forth coming with information no matter if important or not and prefers to give indirect answers (expect riddles from her if she feels especially mischievous)
About Marwesovirr:
his name means “Firstborn” or more literal “The One Born First”
he’s considered the lord/king of all dragons but, like his wife, he doesn’t care much about titles and doesn’t technically rule all dragons, still, they respect him due to him being the first dragon
he as a twin sister, which is, like all female dragons in the setting, a proper eldritch horror and of a neutral alignment, residing outside the world and visiting once in a while (usually during solar eclipses)
he saved Lascia from being sacrificed in a vain attempt to bring back the God of Fire who fathered her and made the humans who tried his servants
his character can be best described as a very lazy, happy cat
he sleeps a lot and doesn’t care about much outside his family and court
About the image:
they’re sitting at the edge of the pond inside the throne-room of the Dragon Palace
the pond also holds a few koi-like fish beyond the depicted lotus flowers
the lamps are made from Lux-crystals, a magical mineral able to hold magic energy and slowly emit it over time as light (they need to be recharged either by magic or sunlight every few hundred years)
the window behind the column on the left depicts two of the four main gods of the setting
I actually like to draw those two one in a while having a nice moment. Not so sure how/what I do for the background but I’ll come up with something eventually (I’m thinking of a colourful window or some other colourful light source)

Some doodles I’ve had in mind for a long while of Morgan and her nephew Niko. They’re both the black sheep of their family (for pretty good reasons) and Niko and his girlfriend came to live with her after he got expelled from college. (Morgan did not know until Niko arrived that his “girlfriend” was, in fact, not a flesh and blood person, but she’s learned to live with “Himiko-chan” and not ask too many questions about what’s going on there.)
Together, they run small-time grifts out of Morgan’s car dealership-slash-whatever-bizarre-scam-she’s-on-about-this-week. They make enough to get by, but Morgan fantasizes about the day when they’ll really make it big… it must be just around the bend. The next get-rich-quick scheme will work out for sure!
They both view the other one as kind of dumb and naive in different ways. Niko is more intellectual and tech-savvy, while Morgan is more ambitious and street smart. Together, they manage to balance out just barely enough of the other’s glaring blind spots and flaws to keep the cops off their tail… for now.
Some stuff that I did for my character design class for a ‘Character Duo’ assignment we recently turned in. Not super crazy happy with the designs and I wish I had more time to do a few more passes. I might revise them when I get the chance.
No matter how much Galek tries, the shoelace will not yield. Grenner helps by keeping a humiliating tab. (This is more or less a truthful shitpost that Kurai is difficult, near impossible to pin or keep in one place)
Sketches! Little Riven and an idea for a momento doll that represents Kurai in the case Kurai dies before or shortly after he is born. It would be simple but has Kurai’s notable features and always has a smile. The doll would be made by Barioth’s mother, Zerra, as a gift for Riven. It is with Riven always, fiercely protected by him, and once he sees what he is missing in terms of parents by observing he understands more what the doll means to him, and it’s a rather difficult truth to face. Grenner becomes an important grounding figure in reminding him he always has a friend and shares stories and memories on what and who Kurai was like. Mortis is harder to convince to talk about Kurai and she doesn’t last long emotionally before she can’t speak about him.
Collection of sketches. Here’s a cp for the first sketch: Grenner and Kurai eventually get along fairly well. Well enough he stays in sleep mode when he’s around Riven. He becomes a sort of nanny friend, helping in looking after Riven and getting him acclimated to things that are not his parents. Riven is inherently shy, like Kurai was when he was little, so he needs some patience when introduced to new things. Grenner is able to read Arch body language very well, so can safely handle Riven or know when it’s time to back away. Mortis was most at unease but she learns quickly he can be trusted. Kurai, with his narcoleptic-like sleepiness, often dozes off, and Grenner simply checks up to ensure Riven hasn’t gotten into mischief(the paints and shampoo.) Some days, bc he is Lead General (Emperor), Kurai is gone for long hours, and Grenner is able to care for him on days it’s best not to bring a kit to work. Mortis learns to appreciate his help. Riven is, like most kits, very mellow and quiet, but still needs brain food and interaction. Also Kurai likes hats and matching dad/son things so he’ll dress Riven in outfits at times.
Sketches of late, second sketch is a sleeping Kurai kit. He has narcoleptic-like bouts of passing out. His parents are in the bg, having followed him on his 15min adventure to ensure his safety. I have thorough explanations on oc things on my private IG, if I get questions here I’ll answer, there’s just too much to copy/paste reasonably.
Kurai somehow convinces Travis to go flying with him late one night after months of being cooped inside. Travis likes his feet on the ground but Kurai did the puppy face and no one can resist the puppy face. Now he’s going to regret his decision bc Kurai wants to falcon dive as soon as he gets off the ledge.
Instead of the sun/moon trope, how about the lightning/thunder trope
which of your otp is showy, bright and illuminating, always visible and dramatic, lights up the earth, usually looking for a fight – not subtle at all and truthfully, not very threatening
which of your otp is subtle but also very scary, is not always visible, is always a threat, shakes the earth, and is mostly peaceful until they’re not – a subtle but ever present threat
