18 years since the world lost #KatharineHepburn —
I’m using this somber day to show a small preview of the contents in this amazing giant binder I recently added to my KH collection! I’m always at peace surrounded by her. ❤️
Complete with sheets of negatives, this binder is an archive of John Bryson’s photography - proof sheets, letters, etc…just a collection of never before seen things that I will one day take a full video of when I show my other binders I have of KH items! Bryson worked on The Private World of Katharine Hepburn book with KH and was one of her favorite photographers.
This is a collector’s dream to own this and while I have posted a photo from the sheets of outtakes already on @katharinehhep (and may occasionally do so?) I cannot share each one, as these are shots she didn’t expect to all be published. There are over 10+ signed items by KH to JB and also two giant framed signed photos I won in a lot from the same auction! Swipe for a precious surprise at the end.
Thank you Kate for making your way into my life the way you have and staying with me always - how I miss you every single day.

Film no 4 of my #peterfinchappreciationweek is the 1964 drama The Pumpkin Eater starring Finch and Anne Bancroft.
Finch plays Jake, a writer who marries Jo, a woman who has 8 children from two previous marriages and who in a frail state starts to question her husband’s choices and business. Jake agrees to move back out in the country to make Jo happy but when Jo becomes pregnant again their issues rise to the surface and difficult decisions have to be made.
This is a serious film, a film that deals with emotions in way that is almost uncomfortable. You agree with her then with him - you like him then you don’t - but that’s the beauty of a film like this, it makes you feel what they feel. The closeups are beautiful and the very quiet scenes where no one speaks feels incredibly loud because of the rawness and openness of the actor’s emotions.
Again Finch nails it with his connection and chemistry to his co-player. He and Bancroft are like cat and mouse and play off of each other beautifully. Finch was perfect for roles like these. He has got a subtle strength and a magic magnetism about him. A great face and and a voice that goes with it. Have to mention ms Bancroft here as well - she was fantastic, in every sense of the word. This film really was a masterclass in acting. I am coming to an end with my Peter Finch week with only one more film to go and have loved ever second of it!
