Putting on that game face; getting ready to wrangle these wild bees! I’m glad I brought a second bee suit! P'Banky (a grad student friend from the lab) was going to help me do this in shorts! Short Shorts!! Let’s just say there are places from which I don’t want to help someone remove a stinger!
Hey there friend, Have you ever wondered what your old pal Doctor Buggs has been researching for his thesis? What’s that? You say you only have 3 minutes? Well have I got the video for you!
After winning the regional rounds, I’m representing the good ‘ole US of A in an International science competition in which we are judged on the impact of our thesis research and how well we’re able to explain it in just 3 minutes. Part of the of it involves a popular vote. Mine is called “The Curious Case of the Bee Mite’s Bite”. I hope you’ll give it a watch and make your way over to this page to vote!
18 years since the world lost #KatharineHepburn — I’m using this somber day to show a small preview of the contents in this amazing giant binder I recently added to my KH collection! I’m always at peace surrounded by her. ❤️ Complete with sheets of negatives, this binder is an archive of John Bryson’s photography - proof sheets, letters, etc…just a collection of never before seen things that I will one day take a full video of when I show my other binders I have of KH items! Bryson worked on The Private World of Katharine Hepburn book with KH and was one of her favorite photographers. This is a collector’s dream to own this and while I have posted a photo from the sheets of outtakes already on @katharinehhep (and may occasionally do so?) I cannot share each one, as these are shots she didn’t expect to all be published. There are over 10+ signed items by KH to JB and also two giant framed signed photos I won in a lot from the same auction! Swipe for a precious surprise at the end. Thank you Kate for making your way into my life the way you have and staying with me always - how I miss you every single day. #classicfilm #film #collector #researcher #oldhollywood #photography #dog #jackchi #research #archive #johnbryson #bryson #hepburn #history #propertyofbethpalucka #propertyestateofjohnbryson https://www.instagram.com/p/CQsIs3mlWt3/?utm_medium=tumblr
I feel as though I’ve climbed mountain after mountain to get here - the view is breathtaking. In about five years’ time, I will be a PhD-prepared Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
I fought hard for this white coat, but perhaps even more importantly, God has been fighting for me over the past five years by opening doors I didn’t think I was worthy enough to walk through. He has awakened me to dreams I didn’t even know I had, and here I am chasing them with my whole heart. I’ve got several more mountains to climb, but I’m learning that I can claim victory before I’ve reached the summit.
I am proud to be a nurse and unfathomably honored I get to dedicate my career to improving end-of-life care for patients and their families.
“I know one thing for certain, though. I never had a family and the Foundation couldn’t give me one. Wouldn’t even let me have one. So I had to find my own. Janet.”
