UPDATE: The COVID-19 Alert Level in NYC is now high. There is high community spread of COVID-19 and pressure on the health care system is increasing.

At this time, follow these prevention tips:
✅Consider avoiding higher-risk activities (such as crowded indoor get-togethers).

✅Wear a face mask in ALL public indoor settings and crowded outdoor spaces.

✅Limit get-togethers to small numbers of people.

✅Stay up to date: get vaccinated and boosted.

✅Get tested if you have symptoms, were exposed, traveled, or were at a large event.

✅Stay home if sick or recently exposed.

Follow these tips when using a rapid COVID-19 test at home:

✅Read the test maker’s instructions and watch any step-by-step videos before you start.

✅Wash your hands before and after testing.

✅Check your test result within the amount of time written in the test kit instructions. A result read before or after may be incorrect.

✅Do not use expired tests or test components that are damaged or discolored.

✅Do not reuse test kits or components.

If you test negative on a home test, but have symptoms of COVID-19, stay home and isolate. Get a PCR test to confirm your result, or take a second rapid home test 24 hours later.

If your second test is negative, you can end isolation if you have not had a fever for the last 24 hours without taking medicine.

Monoclonal antibody treatment is for people who have COVID-19 or were recently exposed to someone who has COVID-19.

Treatment:
✅ Can reduce your risk of becoming sick from COVID-19 and help you avoid hospitalization
✅ Is recommended for anyone age 12 and older who is at high risk for severe COVID-19 illness, such as older adults; people with certain health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, or chronic kidney or lung disease; or people with a weakened immune system.

Treatment works best when you get it soon after COVID-19 symptoms begin, so it is important to get tested right away.

Call your provider right away if you test positive for COVID-19 to see if you are eligible for treatment and for help finding a treatment site. You can also talk to a doctor by visiting expresscare.nycor calling 212-COVID19 (212-268-4319).

Ourlatest data show that the case rate among unvaccinated New Yorkers is increasing, while the case rate for vaccinated New Yorkers is decreasing.

Fact: The COVID-19 vaccines are protecting against infection and illness. Since mid-January, the vast majority of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths in NYC are occurring in unvaccinated people.

It’s the wrong time to catch theflu. All New Yorkers should get a flu shot, especially children under age 5, adults over age 50, and people who are pregnant or may be pregnant.

As the flu and COVID-19are expected to circulate at the same time this season, getting a flu vaccine is more important than ever. Although the flu vaccine will not prevent COVID-19, it will help decrease the risk of you and your family getting sick and needing flu-related medical care.

You can receive the flu vaccine at the same time as all other vaccines, including the COVID-19 vaccine.
