I absolutely love the series Hilda on Netflix! I think I’ve watched the whole season about 7 times now haha

When babysitting my little nephew, we tend to disagree on what show to watch, but this show has us both glued to the screen. The animation, music, and adventures they go on are all so great. We just love it!

The character I’m cosplaying is Frida, she’s one of Hilda’s awesome best friends I’m hoping to cosplay Hilda soon if I can find an inexpensive wig that matches the skirt I already have lol

wassup y’all! i was going through some old photos, & my hair has been through a l o t so i thought i’d share my (hair) transition story!

row 1: pre-transition ❌

my hair was r o u g h. it had no volume, no curl, and was just really damaged & dead from the amount of heat and chemicals i put it through on a regular basis.

-10000/10 would not recommend

row 2: starting transition

eventually i put my foot down & told myself enough was enough. november 2017 i officially stopped putting any sort of heat or chemicals in my hair, and that remained unbroken until i got curious how it would look in november 2019. around this time was when i got into teaching myself about different hair products/methods, protective styling, etc. and began having a new style every week (all while acquiring a l o t of bandanas). i became known in my school by my hair & the full aesthetic i would pair with it each week, and it was qUiTe the wild ride.

my favs at this time were def twist outs, space buns, and my long twists.

6.69/10- lots of fun, but time consuming (& requires you building up muscle for how long you’re doing your hair )

row 3: choppin! ✂️

ah the moment i had been waiting for! initially i cut off just the damaged ends & was left with this lil mess of an afro, but i reeeeeaaaalllyyyy wanted a tapered cut. my parents didn’t want to take me to get it, so one day i snapped and did it myself. i kept keeping my hair up like this for a solid 6 months until my mom was finally defeated & took me to get a real haircut.

8/10- fun & freeing experience (even if it didn’t look perfect)! might honestly do again at this rate ;)

row 4: now!! :))

i’ve finally gotten into eco styler gel to define my natural curls, & i’m lovin it. shorter hair is s o much fucking easier to take care of, and i’m still so in love with the look. parts a lil damaged bc of straightening this past thanksgiving, but at this rate i could probably cut it off. i dO currently need another haircut though, and with the quarantine & all i may just do it myself again ;)

100000/10- it get s o much easier with time & so much easier to rock new styles

hope u guys enjoyed this & gl to anyone that may be transitioning now!

feel free to send in any of your hair stories :))
